Walpole is a picturesque New England village first settled in the 1730s and situated in the Connecticut River Valley of Southwestern New Hampshire. My home is just one block from Main Street in a fairly quiet neighborhood, Suggested Local Attractions:Within a less than 5 minute walk: L.A. Burdicks Chocolates and café https://www.burdickchocolate.com/ The Restaurant at Burdicks https://www.47mainwalpole.com/the-restaurant.html Spencer's Place https://www.spencersplacewalpole.com/ Less than 5 minute drive http://hoopergolfcourse.com/ Across the river in Bellows Falls Vermont: New Falls Cinema is in the Town Hall and has the largest movie screen in Vermont. More restaurants and number of cool shops and art galleries in this old brick town, https://www.vermontvacation.com/explore-vermont/historic-downtowns/bellows-falls We have lovely places to walk and lots of local hiking trails. If you have a canoe or kayak, enjoy a float down the river to Putney or Brattleboro Vermont. There is just so much to do here I love it!

Retired young at heart traveler Details: I am a gratefully retired social worker who enjoys hiking, travelling and meeting new people. Home Town: Walpole NH is an historic town on the Connecticut River bordering Vermont. At one time, Walpole was the home of Louisa May Alcott and the starting place of James Michner's book, Hawaii. The quaint village has restaurants, shops, and a small museum all within a short walk. There is what I have been told is a really nice 9 hole golf course (I am not a golfer) less than two miles from the house. Across the river in Bellows Falls VT are more shops, restaurants and old fashioned movie theater. Favorite Boondocking Locations: I've traveled up and down the east coast spending a lot of time in NH, VT and ME in a great camper van. Looking forward to heading west and north into Canada. Skills or Expertise to Share: I love to cook and share meals with friends and loved ones. I can share info about local adventures and everything southwestern NH and southeastern VT has to offer.

Peaceful Village Walpole, NH Oct 23-25 2 nights Walpole indeed is a lovely peaceful village! We parked in a quiet grassy area near the house. The host was very accommodating. I enjoyed morning coffee at the bakery and one of the best Bagel Salmon sandwiches I can remember. The library offered WIFI. Perfect small town America. A place you might say: “I could live here.” Get here early enough to simply walk around the village. Excellent restaurant also.

The parking space is grass and secluded behind Judy's house. It's a tight fit. I don't think I'd try it with anything bigger than a class B. It is a quite neighborhood and the parking space is secluded. Walpole is a beautiful little village but sleepy. Bellows Falls 10 minutes away, has a thriving little downtown and is worthy of a visit. Judy is a wonderful host.

The town of Walpole is a hidden gem in NH and Ruby+Bart are located right in the heart of it! Our host was warm and gracious and full of helpful information about the surrounding area. Enjoy a trip to Burdick’s for a chocolate treat and the peaceful peal of the hourly church bells on the green. We would highly recommend a visit.
