Mount Forest is a small town with a population of approximately 7,000. We have a No Frills grocery store and a large Canadian Tire store. Lots of small businesses downtown. There's a farmer's market every Friday in the summer. Lots of friendly Mennonites in our area. Our property is located in the country on the outskirts of the town. If you have a dog/cat trained on the wireless underground pet containment system, please take advantage of it here. Suggested Local Attractions:Mount Forest is listed in the top one hundred festivals in Ontario for it's fireworks and car show. Every third weekend in July. Featuring fireworks and a car show with 500+ vehicles plus motorcycles and a midway.

We are brother and sister - both retired. Details: The road we live on is called Lover's Lane. I am a retired civilian OPP radio dispatcher and my brother Jeff is a retired cheese maker of 30+years. We are both single and now live together in a cute little bungalow on a half acre of forested property amongst hundreds of acres of cash crop farmland with no close neighbours. We both love to watch TV, eat and play euchre with our friends. Pretty laid back for sure. Jeff is the main cook. Our energetic Border Collie Jessy keeps us hopping. She loves to run beside our golf cart (year round) up and down the many miles of abandoned rail road tracks near us. We are located on the west outskirts of Mount Forest and enjoy the country life with the conveniences of town. This is a small hobby farm with field-run laying hens who are out all year round. We have solar panels and make our own power with back-up from the grid. We have a drilled well on our property that is free from the town's chlorine but is somewhat heavy with iron. There is a small forest at the back of our property where our guests can feel free to take their pet, walk or sit and relax at the picnic table. We respect quiet and privacy and will do the same with any visitors who stay over with us. Home Town: Home town, decades ago, was Monkton, Ontario. Now located in Arthur Township, just west of Mount Forest, Ontario. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We had our first Boondocking adventure in Hudson, Florida for a week in February 2020. It was great! Excellent hosts. Our second was in Goderich, Ontario at Lazy Acre with great hosts Todd and Gina. For now we are just hosting other Boondockers until we plan our next adventure. Skills or Expertise to Share: We can both build things like buildings and decks but have slowed down over the years as we are both in our 60's. Jeff likes to go fishing in the creeks and I tinker around with my dog, chickens and pond fish (gold fish) We both like to play euchre.....and watch tv (we have satellite and Netflix)

What wonderful hosts! Linda and Jeff were very welcoming and warm in sharing their place, teaching us about solar power and a great rest on a long journey. The country side is beautiful and their warm hospitality matches the environment well! Thank you- Tony and Cathy July/2022

wow. what great hosts. we talked for hours on the porch. Great location in Mount Forest. We had pribkems with our RV power and they helped us try to solve the problem in the dark. Wish we could of stayed longer. Thank you. Until we meet again. Virginia and Bob

Our plans changed suddenly and we need to place the next day. Our hosts and their puppy greeted us when we arrived. They helped us set up and we chatted for about 30 minutes just getting to know each other. They helped us tremendously with some local knowledge that we needed for the next day. I am beginning to sound like an advertisement for Boondockers. Each site we have been to has been amazing mostly due to the people we meet. Lovers Lane Getaway is no exception. Thank you very much to our hosts.

I prefer to get started on our journey even if it’s after work because we always seem to be delayed for one reason or another the morning of departure. This was our first time boondocking and it was great. They communicated with us well as I was nervous we would be arriving late. We had problems with our water and we’re not sure it was resolved as we set out. They were kind enough to let us use their hose. Wr didn’t have to do a lot of levelling. And the are so friendly! Our dogs were able to play together the next morning after coffee and chatting and thank you for the fresh eggs. They were amazing on our trip! We will for sure go back and would highly recommend anyone to stay there.
