Hutchinson, Kansas is located just 45 miles NW of Wichita, KS. It has been home to salt mines since 1887, thus its nickname of "Salt City", but locals call it "Hutch". This is a community of around 40,000 people and home to Prairie dunes Golf Course, one of nations top courses and home to several US championship tournaments. Each year, Hutchinson hosts the Kansas State Fair, and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Basketball Tournament. Unique national attractions include the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center aerospace museum and Strataca (formerly known as Kansas Underground Salt Museum). Hutchinson has an antiques shopping district with local art and music celebrations monthly. Family activities include a children’s museum, Dillon Nature Center, Carey Park Golf course, Hutchinson Zoo, a Skateboard Park, Salt City Splash Water Park, Miniature golf, roller skating, bowling alley, arcade, Sandhills State Park with hiking, nature, and equestrian trails, biking/walking trails, and so much more! This boondocking site is an off-street driveway spot, in a rural neighborhood, just outside the city limits of Hutchinson. Large drive with lots of space to maneuver any size rig including space for a tow vehicle. Pets welcome and may choose to use the fenced in potty area. Access to water and electricity.

Hi we are Lynn and Larry! We now drive a Jayco Greyhawk 29MV. Even though we did drive an older Minnie Winnie, we are still relatively new at RVing. We take short trips, but have yet, to travel across the country and really see the US. That is our ultimate goal. We are from Hutchinson, Kansas and offer a driveway spot in a suburban area, to any and all types of folks and campers! We don't travel with any pets, but we do travel with a Cavalier King Charles Service Dog. She is professionally trained & certified, doesn't bark and is a good camper. I would describe us as quiet, chill and like to have fun :)

We were traveling home after a medical emergency and Larry & Lynn welcomed us and left us on our own for the night. We had a quiet and restful night and continued on our way. It was a perfect stop in a beautiful spot.

Lynn and Larry gave us a good welcome and were very generous to provide electricity for our stay. It was a lovely level driveway and quiet surroundings. It suited our needs perfectly.

We were so pleased with our stay. Lynn and Larry were generous to share their electricity at no charge. We really appreciated having AC while staying in Kansas in the middle of summer. We arrived late and left fairly early so we didn't get a chance to visit the places they recommended. We would definitely stay again and spend time exploring. I would not take N Obee Rd around the airport again due to the condition of the road as suggested by our GPS.

Lynn and Larry could not have been kinder or more welcoming. They made sure I was all set up and even had a little welcome kit with local info, salt from the local mine, and lotion- very thoughtful. The driveway is level and large. Quiet neighborhood, got great sleep!
