We’re located in the village of Maitland Ontario right on the St Lawrence River. Nothing much goes on, but there’s a delicious Chip Truck about a block away, and we’re between the town of Prescott and the city of Brockville where there are all the shopping opportunities you’d want. Brockville also has several places to check out.. You are welcomed to sit on the dock and swim during hot summer days, watch the large ships go by or possibly go for a short kayak ride when the water isn’t rough. Suggested Local Attractions:Blockhouse Island and Canada’s first underground railroad tunnel - both free - are nearby in Brockville. Plenty of access to the St Lawrence River on site for kayaks or swimming, or there are public boat ramps nearby

Location

Access Road Conditions: Gravel driveway just off the main road. You can park either “up top” on the gravel or on the lower level which is closer to the River. The lower level is on the grass so if there has been lots of rain and the ground is too soft, we reserve the right not to park you there. The pictures provide a better explanation and show two locations marked by an orange cone. Large motorhome will be parked on gravel area as it’s a flatter spot. Smaller units can park on the lower grass area. All roads to get to us are paved and well maintained. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: May have to disconnect, then park the Toad up closer to the road

Retired Army couple enjoying time spent in their 38 ft Holiday Rambler motorhome Details: Too easy We’re a couple of Canadian Army Veterans - who met on tour in the Arctic - who have hit that point in life where we’re working on a change. Bought our 36’ Holiday Rambler Vacationer last year and spent the COVID-19 “lockdown” renovating it and getting it just the way we want it. Though we’re not full time as of yet, we’re definitely more than part time !! And in case you are wondering about our profile name ... it stands for our grandparent names ... Odie and Cici On The Road. Now you know as much as we do. 😄😛🚍 Home Town: We are currently “of no fixed address” and kinda liking it! Our motorhome is typically parked on a lovely spot next to the St. Lawrence River in Maitland, ON and we have a stationary trailer in a campground on Upper Rideau Lake (the highest point of the Rideau Canal system). Our summers are spent travelling around or lounging in one of those two spots. Winters are a different story as we travel to some Caribbean Island and honker down there for almost half a year. Retirement life is pretty tough I know but if we figure if we don’t do it now … perhaps we’ll be too old to do it later. Ask us where we plan to settle down and our response will be “don’t know yet”. We have both been all over Canada and still haven’t found the ideal spot … oh and there is so much of the world to see too. For now we are content with following the sun … or wherever opportunity takes us. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Any place where we can sit back and relax and enjoy our surroundings. Skills or Expertise to Share: Darryl’s Military career was as a Signals and Communication guy and Cindy was in Supply and Logistics. As RV owners Cindy is Minister of Interior and Darryl’s title is Facilities Manager. Though the Military was a large chunk of our lives, we were also Potters, with our own business in PEI. Island Stoneware is now owned and operated by someone else. If you are ever in the area, please check them out in Summerside, PEI. Between the two of us we’ve dabbled in quite a bit.

A great spot right along the St-Lawrence River offering a beautiful view and a peaceful setting. Very easy to access. Thanks to our host Cindy. Eventhough she could not be there, she provided all the details we needed to know to have a wonderful stay.

Our hosts were very good with communication, we parked by the river and had a lovely time exploring Maitland. The river is peaceful and relaxing. Thank you so much for hosting us.

Had a peaceful 2 night stay…had things in common as our rigs were quite similar. Lovely view of the river and a quick trip into a Rockville which is an interesting take. Hope to visit again.

Thanks again for allowing us to stay at your place. It was peaceful, quiet and an amazing village location, only 10 minutes from downtown Brockville. It was great getting to know you both!

What a gift this boondocking experience was. Spectacular location. Easy to find and super friendly hosts. We watched ships go by along the St. Lawrence and enjoyed a storm the first night, and the next day was sunny and hot so we swam, albeit it was a little chilly at first, followed by dinner at “Bud the Sup” up the road a little ways. Awesome food! Thank you Darryl and Cindy for sharing your beautiful space.
