We are located on a 180 acre farm with access to acres of shoreline with fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle board potential. This camping spot is 1 1/2 miles by quiet country roads to the 44 mile Western Reserve Greenway paved bicycle trail. Bald eagles, fox, river otters, beavers, and deer are some of the frequent visitors to our property. Spectacular sunsets, a quiet country paved road, and Amish buggies await your visit. We are in Ashtabula County, home to 32 wineries and 19 covered bridges including the shortest and longest in the U.S. The second weekend in October brings the Covered Bridge Festival in nearby Jefferson,Ohio. My husband and I have been traveling and camping together since we met when we were in our mid-twenties. By bicycle camping 10,000 miles in the U.S. and Canada with tents and sleeping bags, backpacking in the Rockies, VW camper explorations, van and pop up camper adventures with our two sons now grown, and 3 class c motorhomes we have been to many wonderful destinations. We still are avid bicyclists, hikers, kayakers, and explorers. When we travel I always enjoy running my 7 mile route while my husband follows along by bike. We love using our motorhome as a basecamp to see new areas and enjoy meeting new people along the way.

I got the flu and ended up not making it there- but was graciously responded to and will definitely keep them on my list for next trip across Ohio

We had a wonderful two day visit here. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The cat and dogs were very sweet. The spot was nice and level. It was a peaceful stay. Thank you so much.

Beautiful place to stay. The location is just as described with plenty of room for our 5th wheel. Marcia and Jack were gracious and informative hosts. We chose their lovely farm because of its proximity to the Western Reserve Greenway Trail. We stayed two days and biked the trail both days. Our hosts gave us great recommendations for places to visit along the trail and we were not disappointed. Paradise Bay at the nearby marina was a lovely place to grab a bite and enjoy the view. The last evening, we took advantage of their fully prepared fire pit and asked them to join us. The McMurphy’s are avid bikers/travelers and we spent the evening sharing our respective adventures. We are definitely interested in trying many of the trails they suggested. We would highly recommend Hickory Shores to other members. Oh, and thanks for the red raspberries!

A wonderful place to stay. I had the spot by the soybean field. It is back from the road, quiet, incredible sunsets, night sky filled with stars. I can't say enough nice things about the kind hosts! From showing me around, to helping me fix up my ebike, to being great company to chat with. You must stop here if you're passing through :)
