We live just off the Blue Ridge Parkway on a private road. Quiet is the key, along with the best temps in NC. We have grills and Fire-pit available if the desire to cook or relax is strong. Suggested Local Attractions:Doughton Park is less than 8 miles down the parkway and Sparta, NC is about 6 miles up 21. It's very rural community and nature is the attraction. We have many deer and other wildlife along with a huge supply of birds. The local hiking trails our ways of getting out. Sparta does have restaurants and grocery stores. Off the Hill we are less than an hour from "Mayberry" otherwise know as Mt Airy, NC. There is a National Park campground with dump stations less than 7 miles down the BRP.

House Rules
Quiet is our offer to everyone. We enjoy company and relaxation and those are our rules. This is not a place with loud music just conversations and good times. We are campers and love to help share knowledge and experiences. We have 3 dogs and the neighbor across the way has pets also. So well behaved pets are a must and they should be leashed to minimize any issues.

We had a great stay at mountain side. Hosts were great. We didn't have much time to visit since we arrived kind of late. They invited us to join them at fireside but it started raining so we didn't get to.

Great visit and friendship. Access and getting level a little tricky so worth reading the info. Extended our stay as we were having such a great time together.

From the moment of contact until we left we had nothing but kindness and friendship from Kent and Robin. Felt like we had been friends for ages. They were most welcoming and accommodating and we had a couple of outings together and shared meals. Access is a little tricky up a steepish dirt road and then a turn in to the right. We managed it fine in a 24' "C" class motorhome. We hope that we will meet up again in the future.

A wonderful first BD's experience. It was a pleasure to spend time with such kind and friendly people. And all our pets got along too.

We were met upon arrival and had a nice visit. Thank you for your service Mr. Mountainside. Parking was great for us, we have a van. I wouldn't park anything bigger than the 25ft suggested. Both Mr & Mrs Mountainside came out for a visit even though allergies were getting them down. Thank you! We were even offered wifi access. How nice since we had no cell signal! Great cool night! Enjoyed it tremendously!
