Retired and thinking about it... Details: Bob retired a few years ago and Nancy is still working and travels when schedule allows. Initially our travels were about seeing our children and grandchildren across the country. Now, our travels are about us! Home Town: We live in Augusta, Maine Favorite Areas to travel: We’re in Maine June - October, and head southwest for the rest of the year. We spent 2022 getting to know Texas Hill Country, New Mexico, and Arizona, where we fell in love with Jeepin'. We returned to Southern Arizona for the 22/23 winter. Winter 23/24 Bob is traveling with our dog, Traveler, with Nancy planning to rendezvous a few times.

We had a wonderful weekend in July. The setting is spectacular alongside the Kennebec River. The setting is very quiet and peaceful We watched many Bald Eagles fishing on the river. One even landed on the property. You can hear Atlantic Sturgeon jumping out of the water with a loud splash. The Kennebec River Rail Trail is a nicely paved bike/hiking trail on the opposite side of the river and starts a couple miles from camp in Augusta. The hosts were wonderful fun people and very accommodating. We hope to stay with them another time.

Nancy & Bob were great hosts & their property is GORGEOUS, it was a little slice of heaven to park right along the Kennebec River. Their sweet furbaby Traveler was a bonus to my stay. Easy to get to, leveled parking, good communication & excellent view. I look fwd to reconnecting with them on the road someday.

The owners were very quick to respond to my messages and met me when I pulled up. They are right. The first couple of "houses" on their road could put you off but the reception at the end is well worth it. It was a nice, quiet stay in my van. Since I'm small, I had no trouble negotiating the road. They connected me with electricity and gave me a pamphlet with information about what was available in the area. Very pleasant stay. Good conversation.

I’m tempted to leave a nasty, scathing review as this is one of those places I would like to keep a secret. But then again eveyone should be fortunate enough to meet Bob and Nancy and enjoy their boondocking hospitality at PercyUs. What an amazing first stop in Maine. I loved our stay so much. An absolutely stunning property perched on the Kennebec. My kids and I had time to go out on the river on our paddle board and explore the gravel flats at low tide. We got to watch giant sturgeon leaping clear of the river, heron gliding down the river and we woke up to bald eagle calls. And then the hosts, wow! I only occasionaly meet people I hope stay in touch with and Bob and Nancy are defiantely on that list. I realy enjoyed getting to know them a bit and look forward to sharing future updates of our RV adventures. Until our next stop in Augusta, cheers!
