Our home is on a one-acre lot close to world class mountain biking trails and national parks. Our property also has an old cave dwelling that was used by Native Americans possibly hundreds, if not thousands of years ago. Suggested Local Attractions: Gooseberry Mesa (1 mile), Zions Park (50 min drive), world class mountain biking and hiking trails are close by and easy to get to (within 2 to 30 miles). Colorado City, AZ (is only 10 miles away and is a one-of-a-kind community with wonderful, but not very well-known hiking trails like Water Canyon nearby). Pipe Springs National Monument (29 miles) is another wonderful location to learn about local native culture and early pioneer history of this area.

Location
Access Road Conditions: Parking area is located on the side of our property in a gravel parking area or by our small pond for smaller RVs. The gravel covered driveway access is very small (only 17 ft wide) with a 2-foot-deep ditch on both sides of the entrance. We have found that it is easiest to back into position off the road which is only 30 foot wide. If you are not comfortable backing up your RV rig, this site is probably not the best place for you to stay. The RV parking area is about 50 ft long and 20 ft wide so you must back onto the parking area and off our driveway after crossing over our tight driveway entrance (basically parallel parking off our driveway, after backing over the driveway entrance). The vehicles total length including truck and trailer should not be longer than 45 feet long in order to fit our RV parking area. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: A towed vehicle should be disconnected at the "Little Creek" Chevron gas station located at the turn off from HWY 59 onto Apple Valley Way, before arriving at our home. It would not be possible to back a towed vehicle into the RV parking location. There are several places on the property, where the towed vehicle could then be parked.

Retired Couple Loving RV Lifestyle. Details: My wife and I enjoy travelling in our 29 ft Class A Motorhome and meeting with and getting to know other RV'rs. I enjoy photography and listening to all kinds of music, we both enjoy spending time with our 17 grandkids. Hometown: Apple Valley, Utah Located near the Arizona border about 30 minutes East of St George, UT and 50-55 min drive from Zion National Park. Grand Canyon North Rim is about 2.5 to 3 hours South and we are just off the Gooseberry Mesa with some of the best Mountain Biking Trails in the world only a few minutes away. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We both enjoy camping in out of the way locations on BLM land in Southern Utah or Northern AZ where I can explore nature and take photos and my wife can sit quietly and read a book. We frequently stay at nearby Duck Creek Area in Cedar City Canyon about 80 miles from our home. It is very nice BLM open camping area with much lower summer temperatures. Skills or Expertise to Share: My wife is a Massage Therapist (semi-retired) who developed several Spas in 4-star resorts. I worked with computers for 20 plus years and as a computer software instructor as well. I am handy with basic home and RV remodeling/repairs and enjoy photography and listening to music as a hobby.

We had an incredible stay at MinerBoyd's place! The wonderful host came out and helped direct us into a private space near his driveway. There was ample room for our RV and our car. The location is a short drive to Zion NP, Grafton ghost town, and Colorado City. It is not on a through street, so the traffic and noise level was minimal to nonexistent. Our host was so kind to guide us up to the cave dwelling behind his home and showed us a petroglyph there. We also got to see his neighbor's wolf rehab behind the fence. MinerBoyd is extremely knowledgeable on numerous topics and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with him. The scenery is breathtaking! We hope to stay again some day.

my host, Boyd, was very helpful directing me to a flat gravel parking area. My stay was quiet in this beautiful location, with bright stars, and the trickle of water in the nearby fish pond. Thank you Boyd.

A great host with many hints about the surroundings (Water Canyon, little farms, splash pad, ...). We loved the place between the trees and next to the little pond. We visited Zion NationalPark and also WaterCanyon - the WaterCanyon was a great idea of the host - our children loved it. Thank you so much for an awesome stay on your property.

Host is fabulous. Great conversation, perfect parking place. He came right out to meet us, fabulous to talk to. Very generous and gave us some eggs. Sleeping spot is very dark and very quiet. Just a great place.
