The mailing/map address is Somerville, but this is just outside the city limits of Snook. I have a place for one RV and a tow vehicle if needed. This is on the farm about halfway between Texas A&M (Bryan/College Station) and Lake Somerville. It's nothing fancy, but it's a place to stay. It's relaxing and there are usually a lot of birds in the yard. Frogs and crickets will serenade you at night. I will be at work most weekdays unless I can work from home, but will be available by phone if needed. On weekends I may be home or out camping on my own adventures. We will coordinate arrival/departure times. 🐕🐈👩‍👧‍👦The site is close to a Farm-to-Market road and we do get quite a bit of traffic in the morning/afternoon on weekdays. It's okay for pets to be off leash, but keep them and children under constant supervision. Sometimes, there are coyotes in the area at night, so I don't advise letting pets out at night to roam free, especially small ones. Please pick up after pets in the yard area. I have a mid-size dog and she will be out at various times. There is a security light next to the driveway. There is a cedar tree immediately next to the parking area, so keep in mind if you have bad allergies to them. There is a fire ring with a flip-over grate. I have some wood, but you may want to bring your own. Grilling is allowed. There is a small table outside as well as a 2-seater swing. There are Munzees here and a geocache nearby. 📦 If you would like to have packages delivered here, that's ok too. Suggested Local Attractions: In Snook: Sargento's Mexican Restaurant - Mexican Food Sodolak's Original Country Inn - Steaks, burgers, chicken fried bacon (closed Sundays) Snook BBQ Co. - Fridays & Saturdays for lunch Snook Pivot Point - Drive thru beer barn (snacks too), breakfast tacos on weekdays, some live music events Slovacek's - Convenience store and meat market, kolaches, Exxon gas and diesel Snook Watering Hole - beer, wine, setups (bring your own bottle) (closed Mondays) Small Laundromat Family Dollar Citizen's State Bank / ATM Close: (This is Texas, we gauge distance in time, not miles) Less than 20 minutes to Kyle Field / Texas A&M University 25 minutes to Downtown Bryan - restaurants, bars, First Friday events 20 minutes to Lake Somerville - 3 Private, 2 COE, 2 State Parks 45 minutes to Round Top - antiquing 15 minutes to Independence - Antique Rose Emporium 30 minutes to Washington-on-the-Brazos 1-1/2 hours to Austin or Houston

Location

Access Road Conditions: See map in the Photos section. It's an old satellite image, but the driveway and parking areas have been covered in road base. You may have to back in if we have had recent rains, but the driveway is straight and about 200' long. During dry weather, you should be able to pull through the pasture according to the yellow arrows in the photo. I do it all the time. There are no overhead trees. The parking area has a shed on one side and a cedar tree on the other. Max area between is 15'. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Parking spot next to my vehicle or in front of the rig if it's short (blue lines on the photo). If you have a dually, we will make adjustments. Parking is on roadbase. Just do not block my vehicle.

Native Texan who is a Weekend RVer for now. Gotta make that paycheck... Details: I'm a solo camper, but I like to camp in groups for fun and safety. I take the travel trailer out as much as possible, but I still have to come back for my full-time job, so I'm usually limited to central Texas. I LOVE the Hill Country! I'm an Administrative Assistant and Microsoft Certified Trainer (Office products). I love camping and dancing and combine the two as often as possible. I love the scavenger hunt game called Munzee and I do an occasional geocache. When I'm not camping, I enjoy working and hanging out in my yard and I prefer to use Native Texas plants. I love watching the birds in my yard, especially the hummingbirds. I'm an Aggie. I have a grown son. Home Town: Snook, TX Favorite Boondocking Locations: I am only getting started on this. I don't have any experience yet. Any place that has a 30 amp (or at least 20 amp) hookup. Preferably not a tight squeeze. Mostly level spots. Skills or Expertise to Share: I'm a Microsoft Certified Trainer. I can help with OneNote, spreadsheets, Word, etc. But don't ask me what to do if you have a blue screen. :)

Denise was wonderful! We were communicating before I even arrived. She provided tips to get there including a warning about a low clearance bridge and alternate routes in case the train was stopped at a railroad crossing, which happened! The overall setting is spacious with beautiful views of the land even though the parking spot is a bit tight but definitely manageable. Denise was very nice and welcoming. We had various discussions about travel and the surroundings. Electricity and water are available if needed. I highly recommend this host and would definitely come back!

This was my first boondockers welcome stay and what a delight. Denise was so thoughtful, informative & kind. This peaceful farm stay was just what I needed. I highly recommend the spot for anyone passing through. Thanks Denise for a lovely experience.

NativTxn's is nothing fancy but it is a great little spot for one to three nights. the accommodations were as described, it's very quiet and peaceful. the owner's mother came over and chatted with us for a little while and then recommended that we walk to the other side of their house to watch the sunset. that night after returning from a visit to the Bush presidential library my wife and I grabbed an adult beverage and watched a spectacular sunset. this was the first time using my BoonDocker’s welcome and was worth every penny.

I really enjoyed my stay at NativTxn's place. She was friendly, had some great chats and agreed to keep in touch, and grateful for an invite back anytime. She trusted me enough to take a night to go camping herself. It feels good to know that someone trusts you enough to leave you at their place while they went camping. I hope you are blessed abundantly for your kindness. I look forward to stopping by the next time I'm in the area.

NativTxn Is a lovely host. Communications regarding access were clear and extremely helpful, as there was a low bridge to avoid along our route. We arrived later than expected, but our host was there to greet us and assist in getting backed into the space. Our only regret is that we were too worn out to hang out in town at the Watering Hole. We would absolutely love to visit again!
