Married 35+ years. Early camping was a sleeping bag…sometimes in the luxury of the back of our truck. A splurge purchase of a tent upgraded us to the next level. After the first camping trip with children (an under 2 years old and an 8 month old) in addition to one cantankerous old dog, a young golden retriever and a cat AND an unexpected torrential rain it was decided our tent camping days were over... possibly ALL camping. Luckily a 1983 Coleman pop up trailer materialized and our camping experiences continued. We were living the good life at that point! Fast forward to our empty nest years. We found ourselves enjoying several different 30’+ class C’s then downsized to a Class B with slide outs and now our easy-breezy, park anywhere Travato. Still learning how to take our time and allow the road and our intuition to guide us.

Northwoods Lake Zen could not have been more wonderful. The location was on a lake, easy to find, not too far from town and just perfect. We arrived in rain but it all went smoothly and had a great nights sleep. The parking pad was well marked and private. Our host was very accommodating and informative. She was concerned about an overly protective fox family with young pups and that was a nice heads heads up since we had our dogs. We never saw the clan however. She even gave us a heads up about "MUSKEYFEST" being in town that weekend, a local summertime fest. So of course we checked that out too. GOTTA LOVE THE NORTHWOODS! I would have loved to have stayed longer and regretted having a tight schedule that trip. Great location and host.

Beautiful home and the host were very nice and informative. Even putting out citronella tiki canisters for the mosquitoes. Lovely place to spend the night.

This lovely location is a delight and the hosts are wonderful. Traveling northward along the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway in mid-August, making my way to Apostle Islands NL, the host offered a peaceful respite and great recommendations for additional stops along the route that I would have overlooked otherwise. Responsive and accommodating! I enjoyed chatting about there beautiful location and travel experiences with them. Note, my 23’ van easily maneuvered into the parking area, but larger rigs may find pulling into this location a challenge. Please read the host’s specific notes about access.
