Nearby historic sites, seasonal farmer's markets, parks and fishing. Handout provided. Adult guests only--yard is not child safe. Pets must be leashed; fence is not pet-proof. (Off-leash dog park nearby.) We are just 4 doors in from the main route through town. Fairly quiet during the week (neighbors tend to play loud music on weekends starting on Friday). We do hear overnight freight trains from about a mile away, but it's not horrible. Size limit: 30 feet total; Handout of nearby activities on arrival.

Location
Must have excellent backing skills. Street is paved, but narrow; driveway is fenced on both sides. Toads should be pulled in separately. No space for turnaround. Back in; pull out. NOTE: 25 foot max length includes towing vehicle. Gravel parking area is surrounded by soft sand; I've gotten stuck in my own truck before; hence the need to simply back straight in and pull straight out.

Grew up tent camping and loved it. Took my own kids on lots of tent camping adventures when they were growing up. In the last couple of years, I've been researching the possibility of getting into the full time RV lifestyle, and binge-watching YouTube videos of others who are already there. However, my personal circumstances are preventing that dream from becoming a reality just yet, so I thought it would be fun to host others who are traveling.

Definitely should be confident in backing up skills if you stay here, and be prepared to park under pressure if someone comes along while you're getting in there, BUT this is a great and safe spot with super friendly and welcoming hosts! Had a great stay.

My dog Scout and I spent one pleasant evening at Oakley-Dokey in our small camper van. As advertised, it's not fancy, just a simple parking spot adjacent to the owner's home. We felt safe and secure and had a very good night's sleep. Other than some distant barking dogs and music, the neighborhood was relatively quiet. Liz is very sweet and greeted us with pamphlets and tourist information upon arrival. On her recommendation we visited the local dog park, and also discovered Magnolia Park nearby, which is lovely. Very convenient proximity to town shops and restaurants as well. Would stay here again, and can recommend this spot for folks who just need a hospitable hideaway for the night.
