We are lucky folks, situated right on a pond- North Pond- in the Western Maine mountains. We have space in our driveway with water and electricity for a rig total length 25 feet or less. We have a small driveway that makes it difficult for anything longer to turn around and park. We travel in the winter so we're only here from May until September. We have canoes and kayaks and a pontoon boat for an evening cruise around the pond. This little lake is some of the best fishing around Largemouth, Smallmouth, White Perch, Yellow Perch, Pickerel, Sunfish, and more. Unless you already have a Maine fishing license, you'll need to purchase a a day pass on line. Guests are welcome to use what we have (with prior notice and at your own risk), except the pontoon boat which needs a family member to operate per insurance requirements. Suggested Local Attractions:Historic downtown Norway with shops and restaurants, White Mountains an hour away, numerous hiking trails near and far, too many other local activities to list.

Location
Access Road Conditions: We suggest that you first plug "Crockett Ridge Rd" in Norway, ME into your GPS to avoid unnecessary dirt road detours. Once on Crockett Ridge, then put in the address on Jackson Lane. We are a mile in on a well-maintained gravel road. We have a brand new paved driveway and it requires a turn around to set up. It's a bit of a squeeze, so let us know when you're coming in so we can be there to help. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is ample room for your tow vehicle to be parked next door or we park next door to make room in our driveway.

U.S.Navy ( Retired) and Human Services (Retired) Details: I'm a 100 % Disabled Veteran (ambulatory) and live on a small lake in Maine with my wonderful wife, Dorothy, one dog and two cats. Dorothy is our road trip navigator and planner and works out where we are headed. I build and fly RC airplanes and helicopters as well as quadcopters. Molly, our little terrier mix, travels with us. We have 9 amazing grandchildren- one grandson is on a Navy Sub right now, a granddaughter is in a PHD program, and we have a 7-yr old granddaughter living near us. We have traveled all over the USA and still haven't put a dent in what we want to see and do. We love to meet new friends, appreciate diversity in people and places, and can't resist a road trip! Home Town: We live in a beautiful little town in the western Maine mountains on a lake. Our home town is Norway, a friendly, busy little town, dotted with lakes, ponds, trails, shops and situated in the foothills of the White Mountains and the Presidential Range in New Hampshire. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We have only been to a few because of last year's total breakdown, but we're looking forward to traveling soon in our new camper and trying out boondocking opportunities across the country. Skills or Expertise to Share: I'm a jack of all trades (sort of) and smart enough to know when something is beyond my capabilities.

Bunk and Dorothy, and pets, are wonderful and welcoming. Access is on well-packed dirt road to their driveway. The driveway requires backing up (Bunk will be glad to do it for you!) and leveling block. Their kayaks are available for use, along with the required and sensible life jacket. I highly recommend going out on the pond — very good for body and soul. This is in my top 3 favorite sites! Go, relax, and rest. Thank you, Bunk and Dorothy for you help, and the gracious sharing of your bit of paradise!

Northponder exceeded our expectations and was our very first boondocker's welcome stay! What a beautiful spot on North Pond...the sound of loons echoing across the pond in the morning while sipping our coffee was heaven. Our hosts were so helpful and easygoing, helping my partner back up our Airstream when we arrived! We took a 2-hour kayaking adventure on the pond the next morning, enjoying nature unfold right before our eyes. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience...we will definitely see you next summer!

What a comfortable place with friendly and open minded hosts! We truly relaxed here and so appreciated the sharing of the fire pit, boats and kayaks, hammocks, great conversation and a super charge for our batteries after 3 weeks w/o a plug. We swam and swam and swam again. and thus charged our human batteries as well. Thank you so much! Hope to meet you again!
