We are avid truck campers, and boondock on the beach as much as we can in our Northern Lite 9-6. Our Boondockers Welcome host site, Camp Da-Z Farm, is our rustic, 5 acre, working, farmette located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The nearby town of Onancock has restaurants, shops, a movie theater, and history, especially Kerr House. Camp Da-Z Farm is 35 miles from Chincoteague Island and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, famous for its wild ponies, especially Misty. We are 5 miles from Wachapreague, The Little City by the Sea - also known as The Flounder Capital of the World, and 24 miles from Kiptopeke State Park - home of the WWll concrete ships. There is also a dump station at this park. Just before The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, which is 44 miles away, and connects travelers to Virginia Beach, you will find The Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge and Visitor Center, offering educational displays, hiking, birdwatching, a boat ramp and information. From the visitor center, you can access a rail-to-trails path that runs along Route 13. We offer boat tours of the uninhabited barrier islands where you can opt to spend a half day on an island beach. Charter fishing is available. And that's not all! There is so much more to do!! In the spring, we grow vegetable and flower starts for home gardeners, as well as potted plants for home landscaping. We also have a very small field of lavender and offer a limited menu of products, in season. We share our property with 34 chickens which allows us to offer farm-fresh eggs to the public year-round. We also have two dogs - a determined red heeler and a cute, friendly mutt - both are rescues. We are surrounded by a large commercial nursery, which means, at night, we are secluded, with little light pollution. On a clear night, the sky is full of stars. Camp Da-Z is usually a very quiet place, but occasionally, Navy helicopters from Norfolk Navy Base practice maneuvers at the local airport. These sights and sounds of freedom are truly exciting to witness!! There is a fire ring at the site whose use is subject to county rules for use, based on wind and drought status. We will let you know if you can use it when you arrive.

Location
We are offering spots in a pasture for truck campers, camper vans and small travel trailers. Be aware that the camp site is located in a lavender field, which means the campsite is all grass. This area was once a riding ring and is firmly packed down. Our pickup has no trouble moving about. You will enter on the nursery access road which can be busy on spring and summer weekdays during normal business hours. Then, you will pass through our farm gate to find the campsite just inside. Contact us 10 minutes before you arrive so that we can meet you and guide you to the camp sight. We have a few places for your tow vehicle.

We are public school administrators, orginally from Philadelphia, now living on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Former sailors, we are now exploring this land of ours. We are avid beach campers, easily getting away to Assateague National Seashore throughout the year.
