Retirees welcome you to the Columbia Valley Details: Offerring a good sized level space for boondockers! Love the idea of being able to provide fellow travellers with a space to park your rig amidst your travels. Pat & Greg love to cycle, garden, explore new places, and meet new people. Home Town: Canal Flats is a small village about half way between Cranbrook and Invermere. There is a boat launch/Park on the lake, a post office, coffee shop, and a grocery store/gasoline. Favorite Boondocking Locations: A newbie! No favourites yet!

Quiet area with a level parking space- great for spending the night on the way to Banff or closer sights. FYI: the property has a long driveway leading to a residential building with an equally long front yard-which is where you park. Do not confuse it with the adjacent vacant lot which has no parking signs posted. Great view to the mountains. Thank you to the host for making this available!

Pat was very accommodating and friendly. The spot was a nice large grassy area and easy to park and make our early getaway the next morning. Pat even gave us suggestions about what we should not miss later is our trip in eastern Canada! Definitely recommend staying here!

Thanks for letting us spend 2 nights at your place. The girls just loved the playground in front! The Columbia lake and the Hoodoo Trail were nice places to discover, at a short distance. Take care and safe travels!

Everything went smoothly at Pat's. At first Canal Flats looks a bit dated but after a couple of hours we felt right at home there. Very restful sleep in our camper. The only problem was we discovered a leak on our truck. Pat told us of a local service garage (Tim's). He diagnosed the problem (likely due to the terrible heat the day we arrived). Tim topped up our fluids and got us going in no time. Very friendly, helpful people. We hope to have a return visit. Thanks again to Pat and Greg for hosting us.

Thank you so much to Pat for allowing us to over night at her parking space. And for noticing that we were incorrectly setting up next door! That is where we saw the deer browsing the next morning!! And thanks so much for keeping us up to date with the forest fire report. Much appreciated! As well thank you for the suggestions to visit Marble Canyon and Paint Pots on our trip southward - both unique locations! We also enjoyed the gelato in Invermere! Hopefully the fires will be out soon and everyone can relax! Cheers Ellen
