Location update as of 09/14/22….Harvest is in full swing directly around us. Ours neighbors have a very large farm operation across our road. They do tend to go late into the evening and sometimes all night. So please be aware. Be aware for large farm machinery on our country and gravel roads. Give them space and be courteous. They cannot always see you as the machinery has gotten very large and wide. We do have 3 new goats on our acreage. We do have farm fresh eggs available to purchase for $2/dozen if interested. A country setting very conveniently located off I-80. Very close to the Outlets at Williamsburg. 10 minutes to the Amana Colonies, 25 minutes to Coralville/Iowa City area and 35 minutes to the Cedar Rapids area. Also 30 mins from the Amish community of Kalona with lots of interesting things to see. Very quiet setting with lots of trees and nicely mowed grass. Pets should be on leash or tie out as we do have free range chickens on our 5.6 acre property. The lane can be soft in the early spring with the thaw and rain. I do have a mobile fire ring if interested. I do have 3 50 amp plugs available. The plugs are kind of close together. So true boondockers will have more privacy. Suggested Local Attractions:Amana Colonies, Outlets at Williamsburg, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City metro areas. Kalona(a mostly Amish based community 25 mins to the south) has lots of neat stores.

Location
Access Road Conditions: We are located about 1/4 mile on a well maintained gravel road. Only about 4 miles off I-80. The drive off the gravel is half gravel and then goes to grass. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Tow vehicle can be unhooked or left hooked up. Plenty of room to maneuver around. There is a decent sized Casey’s gas station on our exit off 80 with truck diesel.

Small town country family Details: We are a small town country family that enjoys the simple life in the country. We enjoy the peace and quiet in the Iowa country side. We are surrounded by corn and bean fields. Our location does get busy in the early spring with field work and in the fall with harvest. Home Town: We enjoy visiting the local restaurants and going to the Amana Colonies. They have very good food and a lot of different beers and root beer. There is a lot of history and little shops to visit as well. Fireside Winery is just to the north a few miles and have great wine. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Haven’t gotten into boondocking yet. Still relatively new to the camping world. Skills or Expertise to Share: I just enjoy meeting new people and camping has become such a large hobby….we figured why not? We are still newer to the camping world but always open to learning and finding new adventures.

I was escaping the Wisconsin cold and this turned out to be my first BW site on my new nomadic adventure. The host immediately appeared when I arrived an showed me the best way to park to avoid windchill as it was quite windy and cold that mid-November afternoon. The stay was quiet and comfortable. Nice level spot. Only wish it would have been summer so I could have seen the crops actively growing. Always a fondness for Iowa. Will return if ever traveling through that way again, for sure.

Our host host was very welcoming. We shared the space with a family and their dog, but the place is big enough that we didnt have to be right on top of each other.

Was our first BW stay and we were a little nervous. Can't say enough good things about them. Large area to turn around, wonderful owners, and gorgeous area in the morning with the fog and sound of birds. Would recommend, would stay again.
