I live on approximately 4 acres on a high altitude airpark. The spot is located at 7044 feet. If you are not familiar with an airpark, it is a residential community that has a private runway and taxiways for private pilot use. We also have a soaring/gliding club that typically flies on the weekends. If you are not an early riser you may be woken up by the sound of a plane taking off. Part of the property is fenced and will allow for a dog or two to run around in, but since i have dogs as well, we would have to have to coordinate when the yard is free. Suggested Local Attractions:Pikes Peak, Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs and several free hiking areas that allow dogs. Unfortunately we are about 18 miles from any restaurants or shopping.

Camping widow traveling with my dogs Details: I have been RV camping for over 20 years and currently have a Class A diesel pusher. Started tent camping with my husband and graduated to different 5th wheels and joining the HDT community, where we made several life long friends. Traveling on my own has been different, after selling the HDT and mobile suites fifth wheel i purchased a lance truck camper, the moved on to a small call C motorhome and was then lucky enough to be able to purchase a neighbors Class A motorhome. I love walking with my dogs, camping, hiking and meeting new friends Home Town: Elbert, Colorado Skills or Expertise to Share: Im still learning how to maintain my own RV, but have learned a lot about traveling with dogs and some great meal ideas when traveling.

We really enjoyed our stay! Great communication, easy to find and park, host greeted us as we arrived and got us all settled into our spot. Super personable and great to chat to! Maybe we’ll catch up on the road:) We really enjoyed watching all the planes and gliders during our stay. Nice quiet evening with beautiful views and sunsets. We hope to come back when back in the area!

We stayed here a couple nights and had the best time. We were there in the middle of the week and were hoping to see some airplanes. Boy did we get our wish! So many cool planes coming and going. Nights are quiet when everyone is tucked away for the day. The host is really great and fun to chat with.

The host was a very kind and personable lady who made us feel very welcome. This was the best Harvest Host location weve been to. So much beauty all around, and it even had some hookups! We will definitely request again when coming through this area!

We stayed here last summer on our way to drop our rig off in SD for floor repairs. Communication with Zuzu was easy and prompt. She was very gracious and let us extend our stay an extra days, due to arrival time in SD and circumstances with our RV. This is an amazing spot and Zuzu is super nice and helpful. There was a 50amp hookup and we tried to only run the AC when absolutely necessary. We would definitely recommend staying here and if we were passing through the area again, would love another chance to stay here!
