Avid boondocker who has lived in Mexico for over 35 years. Details: Recently retired avid rver and boondocker here in Mexico. Living in northern Mexico just three hours from the Laredo/Reynosa border crossings. Easy to get to and we make great tour guides. Close to Monterrey yet nestled in pueblo magico in a rural area with lakes, waterfalls, and mountains. Home Town: Santiago, Nuevo Leon is our home. We have a small quinta with a pool and a palapa. Close to shopping and tourist areas. Easily accessible without entering Monterrey (bypass). Quiet nights with lots of space in between a few neighbors. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Too many to name but they cover the states of Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Durango, Guanajuato, to name a few. Skills or Expertise to Share: We have traveled extensively in Mexico for both work and pleasure and can help newbies find their way around the country cultural aspects, foods, language tips and more. We are always willing to share.

I wish now that Boondockers' Welcome allowed more stars in its ratings. If it did, we'd give these hosts 30 stars. If you are traveling anywhere near Monterrey we recommend that you try to stop here. Please pay close attention to the host's instructions, because (as anywhere in Mexico, you may run into physical limitations for your rig). But once you arrive, not only will you feel welcome, you may feel that you are being treated like royalty. We came for a place to park. We feel that we left with much more knowledge of the local and country-wide culture, and more importantly, with life-long friends.

We stayed with them two nights and they were just like family: we shared dinners and they took the time to show us the surrounding. Moreover, we learned a lot about Mexicans and Mexico and they also were a great source of information for our trip. We loved the stay and we hope to meet them soon again!
