The Boondocking location is on the street in front of our home with shade trees on a quiet street. Street slopes slightly towards the curb. Bear Creek Park is directly across the street from our house with a great bike path for walking, jogging and cycling. The park itself is great for picnicking, walking your dog (please poop scoop) and having fun. You might hear train whistles through the night so just a heads up. We're very use to the trains but some of our guests use earplugs. Suggested Local Attractions:Merced Courthouse Museum Merced Multicultural Arts Center Merced National Wildlife Refuge Yosemite NP is 2 hours away

"The only strangers are the people we haven't met yet." Details: We live in the heart of Merced across from a park and close the downtown business district. I love to travel around the Western USA in a Four Wheel popup truck camper. I look forward to meeting others who like to share a love of travel. Home Town: Centrally located in California's agricultural breadbasket (Central Valley) Merced, CA is 1.5 hours west of Yosemite National Park and two hours from San Francisco. Over 220 different crops are raised in the Central Valley which runs 450 miles from Redding to Bakersfield and is about 50 miles wide. What I love is I can drive 10 minutes outside of the City of Merced and see the horizon from the Sierra Nevada to the east and the Diablo Range to the west. Favorite Boondocking Locations: American Southwest and the Sierra Nevada of California. Skills or Expertise to Share: I've a photography studio in Merced and love to share my knowledge of the this wonderful medium.

We stayed one night and had no issues. Enjoyed talking to Roger about his photography and the surrounding area. Space is right across from a park, but had just flooded so some of the path was blocked off. Quiet and safe night.

MANY THANKS to Ramblin Roger for a nice stay in lovely established neighborhood! A great respite / refueling stop after seeing sandhill cranes at NWR and before heading to Gold Country route. Light sleepers might use ear plugs for distant train horns. My wife heard nothing.. Thanks again for your hospitality!

Roger and his wife were very welcoming and friendly, made us feel comfortable. Nice location in front of their house, across the street from a park which was nice for our puppers. Quiet, safe stay. Would stay again, thank you both!
