Rascal Ranch is 9 acres of native mesquite trees welcoming our fellow RVrs to boondock - dry camp - in the beautiful southeast Arizona high desert. At 4,500 feet elevation the days of summer are much cooler than the lower areas of AZ, allowing for an evening breeze to avoid the need for a/c during most summer nights. The nights of winter are cooler also of course, and can frequently reach freezing but the days on that end of the year almost always warm up to 't-shirt' temps.

House Rules

Please observe normal quiet hours while at the Ranch, tho if a generator is necessary overnite we understand. We are likable and personable here, but we don't expect to either entertain our HH/BW guests, nor to be entertained by them. This is not to be rude, but we know that you are not here to visit us... we are happy to be making an easy stopover available for other RV folks. Friendly pets are very welcome - or at least non-aggressive ones - but as their owners/parents... please pick up their poop, prevent them from barking incessantly, or digging up/destroying any of our property. Be aware that this is rattlesnake country, if you plan to let your pups wander the fenced property in warm weather. There are currently two free dump stations in nearby Sierra Vista and one available for a small fee at the I-10 exit, so please be empty or self-contained for your stay. Our HH/BW availability only applies when we are at home, not when we ourselves are traveling.

The 12 foot wide back gate can accommodate any sized RV and TOW vehicle. Parking on the gravel road or grass/dirt adjacent. Depending on the size of your rig, it may be necessary to turn around by backing up and repositioning to exit through the same gate.

We stayed at Rascal Ranch over the Thanksgiving holiday. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. There was more than enough room for the RVs that were staying here at the same time. Large class A's and 5th wheels were not an issue to navigate and get situated. There is a tiny bit of noise from the road that is 1/4 mile away and from the dog next door but nothing to keep a person away at night. Any BW members will find it difficult to find a more friendly and accommodating hosts.

This is a beautiful, Mesquite tree covered, property. Our site was tucked in between the trees and felt really cozy. Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. So relaxing, didn't want to leave. Our first ever BW. Doug is a very nice guy and we really appreciate him allowing us to stay here. Highly recommend. We'll be back.

We have had a great stay. We loved the property with many trees and the famous hosts. We can highly recommend this host for future stays.

My family went to Doug's ranch and we had planned on going to Tombstone or a nearby lake, but we were enjoying the peace and quiet and watching the birds so much, that we just hung out and did puzzles, read, and walked around his property. It was just what we needed

Doug was an outstanding host who maintains a neat, clean, and very peaceful and isolated country property. He was friendly and extremely informative with any information whenever asked. Reasonably short drives from Rascal Ranch to Tombstone, Bisbee, and Sierra Vista...all worthwhile destinations. We would highly recommend Rascal Ranch as a relaxing travel destination!
