The perfect blend of prairie, woods, and river provide unique nature viewing - including bald eagles, whitetail deer, wild turkey, possums, woodchuck, otter, and more. An established grove of pine provides wind block, privacy, and sound reduction of passing traffic on the lightly used blacktop road. Guests have a choice between a site near the landowner who also camps here, or more private sites further away ... seclusion level dependent on number of guests wishing to stay at one time and not guaranteed. All sites provided with fire ring and wood. Guests provide their own power and take all waste with them upon departure. The owner is willing to share a 50-amp hookup for a small fee, however this site would lack river view or seclusion. Guests must provide a power cable splitter. Sites are located 7 miles from the nearest grocery store. Landowner can provide transportation within reason.

This is a natural environment with all of the risks and dangers that can be associated with that. Guests assume all risk liability for their own persons, children, pets, and personal property. Generators may be run at the site(s) located away from grid campers, or closer if the generator is quiet. We like to camp without endless petty rules and will work within reason to accommodate most of your needs if communicated to us. All we ask is that you be respectful, and we'll bend over backwards to help you out. Common sense goes a long way here.
Location
The landowner will meet with you upon arrival to decide what site you'd like and how to best accommodate your needs. You will also be greeted by our two German Shepherds (Maggie & Kody), but don't worry, they love people, treats, cats, and "most" other dogs. Regardless, I prefer to have them on the leash when visitors arrive. A meeting time should be pre-scheduled prior to arrival but in the event of a variance, please call us as soon as possible.
