This isn't a destination boondocking spot, but it will give you a safe, reasonably quiet and private location to spend the night, on a gravel pad behind a barn just off of Rt 30. There is water, 30 amp service, a picnic table and fire pit (bring your own wood) We do not require payment for hookups, but a donation of $3 per night is appreciated to help offset our costs The wifi will probably not work at the camper, but is available elsewhere on the property. There are several acres for kids to play in the grass or to walk your dog. We don't live here, but the pole building houses our rock cutting shop ( no commercial traffic) and we are in and out most days. We have a pretty extensive collection of rocks and minerals which we'd be happy to show you if you have an interest! You'll find a box with information on local attractions at your site. Hope to meet you soon! Suggested Local Attractions: We're a good stop if you're on your way somewhere! Rt. 30 is a major east/west corridor. Gettysburg is an easy straight 16 mile drive to the west. Lancaster (PA Dutch Country) is 34 miles to the east, Hershey PA is 42 miles north. Baltimore MD is around 50 miles south. More locally, there's a huge farmer's market/flea market about 5 miles away (open weekends) & good antiquing in the village of New Oxford, a nice rail trail 5 miles south for biking, York PA is known for factory tours (like the Harley Davidson factory) and it's history as the first US Capitol. There is golf nearby. The spot is in a safe, private and semi-rural area. It is a few miles to gas/shopping/restaurants.

We camped here the night before we toured Gettysburg. The hosts are great and very communicative. The location was convenient, quietly secluded behind the shop. Drove past the entrance but did a U turn at the school and tried again, this time successfully. With electric and water available, this is the perfect spot to position your rig only 15 miles or so from the town of Gettysburg and the Battlefield. Enjoyed the tour of the rock shop and discussing the many examples of rock they have in their display cabinets.

I arrived late at night, around 8pm, and thankfully the GPS brought me exactly where I needed to go (drive slow, you may miss it!) Everything was exactly as they described, and though I did not get to meet the hosts the first night, Anita made her way over the next morning to introduce herself! Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable place to sleep! Great, level spot to park, overlooking a beautiful field. Connection to electric and filling my water tank was a huge plus - thanks Anita and Kevin!

We had a very nice stay at the Rock Shop Stop. Our hosts were very helpful in getting us situated in their ample gravel parking behind their barn. The property was beautiful with rolling green grass hills. This is a great location situated within driving distance of Hershey Park and Gettysburg!

Thank you!! It was a grest place for me. I am sorry I was not able to hang out with you and check out your shop. The spot is perfect if you need to unwind. GPS kept sending me to the church but it was easy to work out. Do no arrive after dark, it's so easy to miss. Quite, simple, near Target, Wal-Mart, Kohls, and resturants.
