We live in a quiet residential neighborhood on a 1.2 acre, park-like setting and have hiking and mountain bike trails nearby (within walking/biking distance), with world-class white-water rafting, paddle boarding or kayaking on the Arkansas River - at the end of our Main Street! We are in the midst of Colorado's "14ers" - 14,000' mountains and hiking to peaks and high alpine lakes is a favorite for many 3-season visitors. In winter, three ski areas are just an hour's drive from our house, and winter sees cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or ice fishing nearby. Visitors can walk downtown to experience a plethora of restaurants and cafes, not forgetting our local distillery and craft brewery.

We are a recently retired couple. Gaye was a lifetime educator in different arenas, Mark was a handyman, maintenance technician. We love the outdoors and enjoy many adventures on our SUP boards, camper trailer, or backpacking, skiing or mountain biking. Gaye has family in New Zealand and UK and has lived in Buena Vista for 40 years originally hailing from England. Mark was born and raised in Arizona, so loves the desert! We love our organic garden and fresh eggs from our chickens. Gaye bakes, cooks, sews and plays music. Mark maintains our home and is a Town Trustee. We both engage with our sweet grandchildren who now live just around the corner :)

Gaye met us as we pulled in, and she was so helpful with what to see and do on our short stay in Buena Vista. The site was level, shaded, and we had a great stay!!

Friendly and gracious hosts with a lovely camping spot beneath tall trees. Nice walk to Main Street with lots of restaurants, shops, and riverfront park. Looking forward to a return visit! Thanks so much for the hospitality!
