Location

In town, when gps tells you to turn left onto Thompson Creek Rd, make sure you turn left, but stay to the right hand side on the gravel. Then...... GPS sends you too far!!!! We are ONLY 2.3 miles out Thompson Creek road. Watch for white gates with a black sign on the left that says: SageRidge Ranch. White barn with green roof, then driveway. Hard to turn around the big rigs if you go past it. Immediately after the cattleguard pick any spot in the pasture to your right, WE GOT THIS SPACE LEVELED A BIT!!!! (wahooo) and some road base on it. Probably backing into it would be the best course of parking now. Thanks. OR, you can flip around in the driveway down by the house and park in the open space in the fence on the other side of the driveway. THIS SIDE IS NOT LEVELED yet, but it can certainly be used. We try to keep people up by the county road for your own privacy and for ours, but also, so you don't have to listen to Lyla, our LGD, bark all night right next to your camper! ps. wifi, is open, no password needed, But you may have to wander up by the house/barn to get it.

SageRidge Ranch in Wyoming Details: Hello! We run an alpaca ranch on a few acres in Clearmont, Wyoming. We have room for a couple of campers to stay and visit for a night or two. We currently do not have any hookups, and if it has been raining it may be muddy, luckily, most of the year it is not too muddy! You can always park on the roadway if it is raining, just for a night. There is water available to go fill up for, but we will need a small purchase fee. It is well water, no filter, but good soft water, we drink it and so does our stock. Home Town: Our place is located in Clearmont, Wyoming. A tiny town that is conveniently between the Black Hills of South Dakota and has Yellowstone on the west side of the state on the other side. So we are a good "between" for travelers. Skills or Expertise to Share: Fiber Arts, with Felting as a focus.

The hpst had to leave last minute but provided me with clear and helpful info. Many hosts would cancel in this situation, but I so appreciated her kindness in allowing me to continue the stay. The ranch is located in wide open Wyoming - Big Country. The alpacas are everywhere, including at great distance on the other side of the creek on the side of a butte. I needed zoom to even see them clearly. I also loved the four dogs, two emus, and a peacock that came over to meet me. Nice Alpaca products are available in the on site store. This ranch stay was so quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended.

Belatedly, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the company of Linda’s menagerie. Peaceful, quiet … what more can one ask for?

This place was great, nestled in a valley you will be welcomed by the host and her pack of dogs. (Which can be put up if needed, but we love dogs!) One doggo was like your personal host there ready to show you around whenever you’re ready. Parking was pretty easy, but I could see it being a little tough if other campers were there with our 33’ fifth wheel. Follow the directions provided, and you’ll be fine getting back to this hidden gem in WY.

We thoroughly believe that off the beaten track is the magic in the mix for BW and this isn't really that far off! This place is a gem and Linda is an incredible host. We were lucky enough to spend two nights, allowing us time to explore Bighorn National Forest - holy smokes!! We had time to peruse her shop and got a gorgeous alpaca rug. Good stay?? You bet!!
