Farmstead, close to Lake Barkley and Land Between the Lakes national recreation area. 1 hour to Paducah 90 minutes to Nashville, TN 45 minutes to Ft. Campbell Suggested Local Attractions:Cadiz has nice antique stores, and from April-October there is a farmers market on Weds. and Sat. Check out landbetweenthelakes.us for many attractions available at nearby Land Between the Lakes Recreation Area. Country Ham Festival 2nd weekend of October. Amish community close by with a great grocery store and nursery. Cadiz has a Cruz-In the 1st Saturday of the month April-Sept. with free activities each month

Farm wife and grandmother Details: I'm retired from county ag extension service and taking life easy. Husband is a retired farmer, retired volunteer fire chief, and worked many years as a seasonal employee for Kentucky Division of Forestry. We've been blessed to be able to visit all 50 states, but now stay pretty close to home. Home Town: Cadiz, KY Favorite Boondocking Locations: Waterfront in Steward, AK Badlands National Park, SD

We found Shafer Acres pretty easy and got set up without a problem. We liked parking near the pond and enjoyed the helicopters. The property is beautiful and we had a good time exploring Amish Country. This location is also close to Land Between the Lakes. We would definitely stay again.

Very peaceful place. Our hosted were gracious. I wish we could have stayed and visited longer with them. I am sure they had plenty more stories in them. We will stay here again!

we spent a night at this lovely farm. except for frogs and crickets it was very quiet and the hosts friendly and helpful. we apreciated the opportunity to stay here!
