There are parking lot lights, a garbage can, and a port-a-potty. There is a firepit with a short climb up the hill. There is a wooded area to walk pets. We do require that pets be on a leash, as we have two cats. And of course, a funky ice cream shop with premium ice cream, a sculpture park in the woods, and lots of places to sit in the shade! We request a maximum of 3 days. During business hours we request arrival before noon or after 9 PM from Wednesday thru Sunday. It is suggested to call ahead because sometimes the parking lot can be full of customers. But after 9:30 pm or so, all you'll hear is road traffic. From October thru March, the shop is closed, so you can come anytime if we are home. Just please be considerate, and leave it like you found it! Suggested Local Attractions:Mount Airy is Andy Griffith's hometown, so Mayberry is just minutes away! Also we love Pilot Mountain State Park. Round Peak Winery is just around the corner.

We don’t regret choosing Scoops as our first BW stay. Friendly couple that made us feel welcome on their property. Loved taking a morning walk through their wooded sculpture garden complete with a tree house and a swing. It’s off season so we didn’t get to try their ice cream. Appreciated the power and water hookup. Hosts also offered us firewood for their fire pit. Would for sure stay again!

Scoops was a great spot to spend the night after touring Mount Airy. Chas was a friendly, gracious host, offering a nice level, quiet spot, close to power and water, if we needed it. Wonderful night. Thank you!!

A huge thank you goes out to V and C! What a beautiful place and great hosts. Just live the sculpture forest and your Ice Cream truck. So great for our very first Boondockers!
