This is a rural country setting with many trees. It is about 75 ft down our gravel driveway to the camper port (35' x 16' x 14') that one can park under. The area has fresh gravel to park the rig on. We have a small outdoor woodburner along with kindling and wood. We have an electric line (15A) ran from our garage to the camper port for small power draw items. We have a friendly Border Collie mix, Max and our cat (Leo). Expect to see dear in the yard. Suggested Local Attractions:Spring Valley campground nearby with dump service. Fee was $10. There is a nice local vineyard not far from our place. This vineyard probably cannot accommodate a rig but only the tow vehicle. There is another vineyard not far away also. Both have great views. There are other restaurants at the exit also. Salt Fork State Park, The Great Guernsey Trail, Coal Ridge Park, and the The Wilds are not far from us.

Location
Access Road Conditions: Our location is about 7 miles (10 minutes) from I-70. It is off a paved clear 2 lane county road on a chip-n-seal township road in a country setting. There are some minor hills on the county road but nothing to steep and there aren't many sharp corners. Watch the tree branches on our road. Required to pull in our driveway a short distance and then back in under the camper port. The carport is about 60 ft from the road and 200 ft from our home. There is a one 35' L x 16' W x 13'6" H camper port to park under. There is space beside the port to park a tow vehicle. The only electric plug is by this spot. There is also flat grass areas beside the the camper port and across the driveway that would allow space for a additional rigs.

Simple rural living in the country. Home Town: Cambridge, Ohio Skills or Expertise to Share: Boating and cruising on our 40 ft Flybridge Sedan. I recently re-wired the AC 120 electric systems on the boat. I hope to install batteries, inverter/charger and solar panels in the future. I do about all of the maintenance on our boat, truck and camper. I'm learning all that I can.

Doesn't get much better. Easy access, parking under covered RV storage and power too. Great communication and knowledge of area. Very peaceful and so quiet too. Very friendly couple. 5 stars could easily be 10.

Great quiet nights stay. Didn't get to meet the hosts, but they were very nice and communicative.

The Host was very nice and helpful. Let us use some 15amp power. The location was incredibly quiet.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Shady Rest. We were there only one night; we are in the process of getting adjusted to our new (to us) 19' travel trailer before taking a cross country camping trip. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We ended up needing to leave later than we had originally planned and they were happy to accommodate us. I would recommend their place to anyone who needs to stop in their geographic area.

We stayed one night at Shady Rest and enjoyed exchanging camping and stories with our host. We used their 15 amp service for charging our phones and using the microwave. Their fire pit even included kindling, which we appreciated. Their dog Max was so sweet to our dog and if we had stayed longer I am sure they would have had lots of fun playing. The view from the camper was amazing and we got to see three deer come across the yard.
