Location
Access Road Conditions: Back yard spot must be accessed from alley into very narrow spot, so length limited by maneuverability into spot. Possibly up to 23' if you are an extremely skilled driver and have a spotter (helps if rig is short in height too). Maneuvering anything towed beyond a small popup camper would be highly unlikely. There is street parking available instead. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: on street

Guest details: I travel throughout the country for business and pleasure. I seek safe spots to park (& wifi). My 10 lb Maltese medical alert service dog and I are very clean, pick up after ourselves, and treat your property with care. Host details: My calendar is blocked due to bad guests from Harvest Hosts. I AM NOT HOSTING NEW GUESTS AT THIS TIME 2023-2025. IF YOU HAVE STAYED WITH ME BEFORE over the hundreds of nights I've hosted -OR- can PROVE you were a BOONDOCKERS WELCOME MEMBER prior to the Harvest Hosts purchase, please message me. Unfortunately, I am unable to accommodate ANY new Harvest Hosts guests at this time due to their failure to kick members off the site who break the rules. HOST BOONDOCKING RULES As of June 2021, Please DO NOT BOOK UNTIL YOU READ the following: After 6 years, the BACKYARD SPOT is UNAVAILABLE now THROUGH __________. If you request to stay during this time, it will be on the street in front of my house. It is a city street (a quieter one, but nonetheless, a public city street). If your cord is long enough, you could plug in for a short period of time, but not stay plugged in due to public sidewalk. While not ideal, many people have stayed there due to being too large (or difficult) to get into the backyard. We have never had any issues with our RV or others parking on the street as long as vehicles are moved every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month 8 am - noon for street sweeping (or you will be ticketed). Technically, I believe the city rules are sleeping in vehicles only in an emergency situation or for less than 4 hours, but I have never seen this enforced. However, campers may not be unhooked and left on public streets and I understand that is enforced. Experienced boondockers know the drill. 6/21/21 We have been happy to host for the last 6 years and were the only boondocking spot near the coast from Orange County to Santa Barbara for several years. Unfortunately, an inexperienced boondocker ruined it for everyone. There is generally enough room for 4-5 cars in front of my house to the corner when the neighbors don't have guests. On the day of boondockers' arrival, I try to strategically park my car (I usually park in my garage) so that no one else parks in front of my house. I give instructions about where you can find parking a block away if the area is full and I can usually get any cars moved. However, I may be unavailable or not at home when you arrive, particularly if I have not been told the time of your arrival. I cannot control a public street. In the meantime, there are plenty of places to park only steps away (this is not a big city where you have to circle for blocks to find parking). DO NOT INVOLVE THE NEIGHBORS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. We are happy to help travelers. If you are in need of water and electric, we request a small donation for your stay. We are responsible, respectful, honest and expect the same. We live in a nice, quiet neighborhood, so please don't be the person that creates disturbances and ruins it for everyone. ~ Pets with flea protection and on a leash are welcome. My dog is loose in the yard. Please be aware my dog is very protective and does not love other dogs or possibly even like them. ~ No smoking. ~ Please put all trash in bins. Feel free to use the trash bins in the alley behind the house. ~ No dumping or spilling is allowed here. ~ The backyard RV space is through a very narrow alley off a narrow alley, which makes it difficult to maneuver anything into it. Due to a low garage overhang and neighbor's fence, it is best not to risk the maneuver unless you are extremely skilled and it is daylight. You are welcome to park in front of the house instead. Happy and safe travels! Home Town: I grew up on the east coast, but I have lived in several places in southern CA. Once I experienced the great weather year-round, I never leave for too long! Favorite Boondocking Locations: Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA; Austin, TX; upstate NY; Nashville, TN; Malibu, CA are a few of my favorites, but I love exploring new places and visiting familiar places. I have been to 47 states, but often don't have as much time to explore, meet people and see friends as I would like. Skills or Expertise to Share: Business consultant

In a residential neighborhood so parking was a little sparce and host had to ask the neighbor to move their care. Kind of awkward. Also, parking us not level. Host was nice.

Very nice host, she kept us a space right in front of her house and greeted us on our arrival. It was a Friday night so probably a bit more noisy than during the week, many cars drove by all night long, but we were still able to sleep.

We stayed here for one night when we were visiting the Santa Barbara/Ventura area. The host was very accommodating when we asked to reschedule our stay as we were delayed a few days. Great communication, very friendly. The spot is as described, street oarking, in front of the house. There was occasional traffic driving by throughout the night, which picked up by about 7am. If you are a light sleeper you may want to be prepared for that. Otherwise it was a great place to stay for a night.
