I am a so it yourselfer. Details:. There are many places to boondock here in Cloudcroft. Home Town: We live in Alamogordo, NM, and have a cabin in Cloudcroft. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Cool places in the summertime. Cool (not too cold) places in the wintertime. Other "cool" places. We are very frugal so we stay in Corp of Engineers parks, big box store lots, city parks, fairgrounds, lodges, etc. We enjoy staying with other Boondockers like us. Skills or Expertise to Share: I owned and operated a small dry cleaning plant, so I am fairly mechanically inclined and able to do all kinds of machinery maintenance. I am handy with all kinds of "power" tools. We have volunteered with the Methodist "NOMADS" and with Habitat for Humanity on various building projects.

I liked parking here. Drive way is steep as host described but once you overcome that it’s an exclusive spot. I struggled a little to get close to level but everything turned out good. Host was away so I had the place to myself. It’s near Highway but very quiet after dark. I’d go back if in the area.

it a tight driveway, however i spent two nights of peaceful bbondocking at this location. Host gave me excellent directions to the location, because mapping software was way off. thank you.

We made a same day request after being dissatisfied with a nearby FS campground. David quickly responded and we had a nice chat. Initially I parked at the wrong house and relocating after dark was challenging. But David and Shirley offered a great alternative down in Alamagorda that worked out great.

My first time using boondockers welcome, disappointed. Asked to stay, host confirmed and wasn’t there when I arrived nor did he answer my phone calls. Lack of communication left me scrambling to find a place for the night. Bummer
