We have a 12 ac parcel of raw land near Merritt, BC on a salmon running stream which lots of local wildlife enjoy; Deer, eagles, osprey, hummingbirds and an occasional black bear when salmon are running. Weather is warm and dry throughout the summer with winters being crisp and cold. We are just a couple of hours from the prime Okanagan fruit and wine regions and tours. Our property is an historic creek bed so we have zero topsoil but are working hard to create some planting zones using dead tree trunks and bringing in mushroom manure. When/if using the electric hookup we ask for a donation of a small plant suitable for zone 4 rather than anything monetary. Suggested Local Attractions:Salmon hatchery within walking distance. Any number of lakes. Douglas Lake cattle ranch and Quilchena heritage hotel and restaurant. Honeymoon snowmobilers haven. Ski hills: Sun peaks (1-1/2 hr) and other Okanagan mountains (Big white, Silverstar, Apex) Wine tours abound throughout the Okanagan

We just had a 2 day stay at the Mcjannett's and it was a wonderful way to end our 5 week camping trip. Their acreage was heaven for our dog Mollie to roam and we were made so very welcome. They had a plug in and wifi and the site was flat and easily accessible. We can't thank them enough for their generosity.

We had a great time to unwind from a 7 week driving holiday. We were definitely welcomed with open arms and met two very helpful and open people. Will definitely be back if the opportunity comes up.
