I am a retired technical professional, new to the RV lifestyle. For the past 6 years I have been traveling to Arizona, Texas, and California, mainly snowbirding in winter months. Now I would like to expand my travels, get an RV, and stay in parks and sites offered by Boondoggle Welcome hosts. I am also a Boondoggle Welcome host, hope to learn more about RVing from guests who stay at my property, which is a very scenic, quiet, location in the western Colorado mountains one hour from Grand Junction. 2023 update: For health reasons I am considering selling this property. If you are interested in this 31 acre piece of heaven with tremendous views, please contact me. Steve 970/250-0488.

The drive to the Getaway had beautiful scenery, leaves were changing fall colors, and majestic mountains. We arrived easily with Host Steve’s directions. His place provided a concrete level space for our RV with 15 amp electric and WiFi access. At night the sky felt like you could reach out and grab a star! In the daytime; we enjoyed walks, wildlife, and beautiful birds. Steve was a gracious host who shared his vista viewing deck to answer some of my questions. For us, it was a great place to relax and recharge in a stunningly beautiful quiet mountain!

WE loved our stay with Steve! Pay attention to max length because a big rig will not make it up the drive but we had no problem at all in a 21' Ram Promaster Camper Van. Steve is awesome, full of interesting ideas and recommendations and his property is amazing. We had Bluebirds on our side mirrors, woke up to a doe and her fawn right in front of our van and when we opened the sliding door, we heard elk. We walked up on the crest of the hill and saw about a dozen of them walking towards the water behind the house. We highly recommend this place and really wish we had more time to spend there. It's a great stop between Colorado National Monument and Grand Mesa!

I feel blessed to have the exceptional time I had staying at this site. The property is on the south flank of one of my favorite places - Grand Mesa: also known as "the largest flat-topped mountain in the world" and "Thunder Mountain". For a slope, the available RV spots are relatively flat - one is primitive and the other paved. The availability of 30 Amp (for a small fee) was much appreciated. The host, Steve, who lives on the premises, could not have been more delightful. Given all that wonderfulness, the incredible view is what is priceless. To the north and west is Grand Mesa looming large. To the south, the valleys of the Gunnison and the Uncompagre were on full display night and day. At our host's invitation on the 4th of July, we 2 campers joined him on his deck to watch the fireworks display. Incredible! At least 3 communities gave us a great show with all of the fire, but none of the booms. Best 4th ever!

Rainbows, robins, and roaming wildlife abound at this exquisite property graciously offered by the host, Colorado Steve. He has two campsites perched on the side of his mountain, Grand Mesa in western Colorado. Although I was minutes away from the quaint sights and offerings of Cedaredge, hanging around camp provided all the sensory pleasures I could ask for, thanks to the grand vistas blissfully engaging me at Dreissen’s Place (or as Steve prefers to call it, The Grand Getaway).
