We stayed at Suwanee 16 in a 31 ft. 5th wheel for 3 nights. We had a very nice stay. It was raining when we arrived so the road, which is graded limestone, got the truck and trailer quite messy. The road was firm, however, and we had no problem getting in. We spent the next day visiting Manatee Springs which was about a half hour drive, Shired Island about a half hour drive in the other direction, and the town of Suwanee. The last day the weather cleared up and Judy joined us for kayaking on the river. On a calmer day I think it would be relatively easy to paddle to Manatee Springs and back. We only tried fishing a little bit and had no luck, but did see fish jumping. We also enjoyed visiting with Butch and Judy and the other boondockers who were there. We highly recommend these hosts and would not hesitate to stay again.

Suwannee 16 is always one of our first stops in Florida. Always great conversation. Level spot with 30 amp and water. Thanks for the stay... until next time!

The hundreds of reviews are no exaggeration. Butch and Judy have made 2 very inviting spots for Boondockers with both water and electric; the parking is flat and well maintained and just steps from the river. We enjoyed Butch’s story of how he acquired the property - it all started with camping there before there was even a road. For a serene, peaceful stay, with a fabulous view, request this host. Thanks for sharing your special spot Butch and Judy!

Butch & Judy were so welcoming & helpful so you enjoyed your stay with them. It does not get any better than this. Beautiful location on the Suwanee River. Their history & ties with the land. They have an old camper that has been raised that meticulously redone on the inside. The inside shower is available to use but we preferred their outside shower. We stayed actually 3 nights with them & it was like staying with friends. Hope to return again. Awesome stay.
