Our 8 acre parcel in rural north Florida is a part of 160 acres that has been in the family since host's great grandparents homesteaded in the late 1800's. The area has multiple natural springs where Manatees live year round. The famous Suwannee River is just a few minute drive and the Gulf of Mexico is a pleasant drive. This is not the Florida of white sand beaches and palm trees, but it is full of old Florida nature and southern charm. The area is called the Nature Coast for a reason, as there's plenty of outdoor activities available:: fishing, Kayaking, bird and Manatee watching, and biking. Cell signal is rather sparse with Verizon, you just have to find the right spot. Not sure about the others because we only use Verizon. Data connections: AT&T works okay. Verizon device is hit or miss. TMobile device works okay. Sprint is another hit or miss. Suggested Local Attractions: Natural springs are all over this area along with the Suwannee River. Cedar Key and Crystal River are excellent areas to explore with an easy drive from The Old Homestead. Our part of Florida is called the Nature Coast for a reason as there is fishing, hiking, boating, Kayaking, biking or bird watching. You will find a lot to keep you occupied. If you're a Gator fan, UF is also within an hour drive.

Rules... we're all adults but there are a few. Drinking adult beverage is permitted but as long as there's no rowdy behavior. Would prefer no smoking, but if you do please keep it inside your rig. Pets are fine. They do need to be leashed and not aggressive towards other dogs or cats, and you must pick up the poop!

We stayed for one night, and it was perfect. A large grassy clearing with water hookups. No electricity, but used our generator n/p. The property has a cow farm on one side and the hosts were perfect leading us in, getting us settled and then disappeared. So glad to have hosts!
