Welcome Campers ! (Sorry, no outdoor pets). Find a spot & enjoy…… You may be alone or there could be other campers there! (😎 Owners & RV friends 😎) and accordingly, 30a electrical service is FCFS. We can usually get you an extension cord for 15a service. There are 110vcords hanging on the corner of the house & shed. This is a semi-private and partly shaded location with old mossy oaks, pines & palms. We have a small stilt house here with decks and patio. We put down a shell fill material which gives a good base for most heavy vehicles and campers. There is grass if preferred, particularly for smaller campers & vans. This is a nice accessible and safe place to stay for free. Should be an easy in and out. 10 minutes from I-75, 5 minutes north to Publix & Home Depot & Walmart. It gets quieter at night when the stars come out! ****We prefer no pets**** Beaches can be found about an hour away. Gasparilla Island SP, Sanibel Island & Ft Myers Beach are all on the Gulf. Going early may ease the traffic pain! There are also a couple of nice beach areas on the islands accessible by ferry service....Cayo Costa SP & Don Pedro SP. Picnic Table & Clothesline nearby for your use. Also an outdoor shower! We have critters, wild hogs that root around at night? ...But we have never seen them. Also possums & raccoons, even bobcats & coyotes in the area. It’s Florida, lots of possibilities! We also can have mosquitos & noseeums. Our Potable Tap Water is from a newer Reverse Osmosis system and is excellent for all uses! Use it to fill your tank. (Not the black hose, it’s raw well water). (Use the tap/hose by the outdoor shower…looks bad on the outside but water is fine). Donations appreciated. Propane fill is available in Punta Gorda, Pinch a Penny Pool just north on HWY 41 or nearby just south on HWY 41 at Horner RV. Dump Stations (maybe?) at nearby campgrounds, but call first: ***Loves in North Ft Myers I-75 $10. *** best bet! *** WP Franklin Campground in Alva State Parks with campgrounds Pine Island KOA - 27 mi SW Waters Edge RV - 7 mi (by airport) Maybe RV dealers? During the remainder of the year, camping is allowed each weekend from 5 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Sunday, and on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Labor Day. Camping is prohibited on the Yucca Pens Unit. All campers must obtain a free permit/site reservation using the online reservation system. Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park is just west of us offering outdoor activity... https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/charlotte-harbor-preserve-state-park Matlacha artist community at bridge to Pine Island, Berts Bar, fresh fish shop......also Lazy Flamingo Restaurant in Bokeelia & places in St James City on Pine Island. Also, at twilight and dawn there are flocks of cranes that go back & forth from northeast to southwest.

Boondocking! ....Relax & Enjoy yourselves! ....Leave it like you were never there! Please don’t use the curvy asphalt driveway west of the house for campers & trailers entry or exit! Our son Matt leaves early in the morning so please do not disturb him in the evening! Thank-you. We do prefer NO PETS (your cat is ok) Plenty of fire starting material on the grounds like palm leaves, branches & twigs.... bring larger firewood. Come anytime in the afternoon. Owner works early morning and may be sleeping for later arrivals. (Night arrival is ok with us if you encounter a delay.) Alcohol is not an issue with us as we drink red wine and enjoy a beer on a hot day. Common courtesies are obvious. If you need basic electricity we have a 50’ long extension cord for 110 volt 15 amp service for tv, lights and battery charging. (Not microwaves!). There is also an outlet & cord on the corner of the shed. $5-10 per day. We do have 30amp outlets on the house and shed if you need more electric for A/C or heat and suggest $10 to $15 a day for that. You may need to park closer to the 30a outlets unless you have a long extension cord! There are also 15a outlets under the front and rear decks There is a black mailbox at the bottom of the back stairs for electrical payments/donations. OR For electrical payments & donations, Venmo can be used … mattquince@gmail.com or user name is Matthew-Quince-1 (Don’t blow the breaker by overloading circuits!, microwaves are a problem with the 110v outlets). Note….ONLY one cord should be used per outlet. The water is from an RO system and excellent. There is also an outdoor shower. Hot showers $2? (Note that there’s an on/off valve on shower head)

Access Road Conditions: Nicely paved road with concrete entrance apron on to property ( Use the East Driveway Entrance ... Across from the mailboxes! ). DO NOT USE CURVY ASPHALT DRIVEWAY WEST OF THE HOUSE! Access and camping areas are generally level shell gravel & grass. There is room to enter and back into spaces but not really pull through. There is access traveling east or west on the side road we live on. Florida is flat! There are some 2x6 wood pieces for camper jacks if needed. I-75 exit #161 at Jones Loop is north of us and I-75 exit #158 at Tuckers Grade is east of us. In both cases you cross HWY 41 going south or west, respectively. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is room on site for your tow vehicle or trailer, particularly if there is only one or two RV’s. There is also room on the road shoulder. Larger rigs and those towing long trailers/5th wheels need to turn into the property with a wide swing but the adventurous make it! Pick a spot that works for you! It’s Boondocking!

This was a great place to get off the road for the night. We didn’t meet the owners but they were prompt and courteous when responding. We didn’t need any services but the place was level, quiet and just a short drive away from the harbour walk and places to stalk up or even change your oil. A lovely city.

Our stay at Shady Acre at Fat Point was great. The paid Hot shower was such a conveinence, because our fresh water tank does not hold enough for two days of showers for 2 people, plus washing dishes, and flushing. The host was gracious enough to allow for another night. It is a private location in a community. between 6-8pm we did hear some planes overhead but not a problem at all. In the early morning we could hear the occasional Truck or Motorcycle. overall it was very quiet. Gettin in and out was also very easy. the ground is hard and compacted and pretty level. There was a outaide firepit, but we did not use it. We ran a Ext cord for 110 power so that we coyld make coffee and charge phones. The host was bery responsive and gave us privacy.
