While we do try to respond to requests within a few days, in rare occasions it may be a couple of weeks before we respond. Our site is a Backyard camper pad at our home. Electrical is a 20amp service, you must provide your own adapter. Water is also provided from a well on the property. You can dump gray tank in a yard drain near the camper pad. Generators are okay, We have a gas fire pit, as well as a gas grill, and a charcoal grill on site. One of our dogs is aggressive to unfamiliar animals so we do not allow pets. Even those that stay in your RV do not work out. We also have a half bath outside that includes a toilet and a sink. P We do have an apiary (several beehives) in our back pasture so if your stay is during a time when nectar is flowing it is possible that you will be visited by several honey bees. The possibility to get stung is there if you walk barefoot and happen to step on a bee. We are very involved hosts so you can expect some fellowship from us, and possibly some Cajun cooking Suggested Local Attractions:Parish Brewery is within walking Distance from our home. Tabasco is a short drive to the east, they offer several tours. Vermillionville Historical Village, and Acadian Village are parks that celebrate our Cajun History. As well as Rip Van Winkle Gardens which has history of when a drilling rig punched through a salt dome and drained Lake Peigneur. Jungle Gardens, Arceneaux Park and the St Julien Sports Complex, as well as several swamp tours on the Basin and Lake Martin. If you plan to stay a few days with us and want to try some inshore kayak fishing, we can arrange that too!

We love to have people stay with us and we have made many friends. But not everyone has been a favorable guest. If you have zero BDW referrals, please make sure your profile is as descriptive as possible with pictures AND When making your request, tell us about yourself, where you’re from, Where you’re going, your plans for your stay etc. put this in your request message. Please don't just copy and paste from your guest profile. If this is omitted your request will be declined. No littering. We have trashcans outside as well as ashtrays, please use them. No children under 12 years old. We have a strict NO PETS rule, NO exceptions. We have a dog that is aggressive to unfamiliar animals. She is great with Humans just not unfamiliar animals. We have tried with RV only pets before and it doesn’t work out. Because of the herding nature of our dogs, they like to get under trailers and other towed vehicles. We like to be home so we can make sure they are not in your way. Our work schedules are consistent so please plan your arrival after 4:30 pm, (week days), and departure at 6:30am (week days), I can plan to be home for lunch for a lunch departure, but that needs to be prearranged in advance.

Fun Loving Middle Aged Couple. Details: My wife andI recently upgraded from a Lance Truck Camper to a Forrest River Flagstaff Microlite and we love to travel. We also love meeting new people, we built our home to fellowship. We discovered Boondockers Welcome through a couple that found us through the Lance Owners of America "Freeloaders" Group. We hosted the couple freeloading on our property and over dinner they told us about Boondockers Welcome. We are a very involved couple, we want to visit and get to know our guests! We love to hike, camp, and Kayak Fish! We both Love music and Lonnie plays drums for our worship band at church as well as for a local Ska/Punk/Rockabilly band "Skadiana". Home Town: Broussard, Louisiana Favorite Boondocking Locations: Cracker Barrel restaurants always welcome us. Mustang Island Texas Skills or Expertise to Share: We have built our home and are quite skilled in carpentry and concrete work. I play drums, and know my way around a diesel engine. We very much enjoyed our stay! Lonnie and Antoinette are wonderful people. They have 3 wonderful dogs and roosters! If you’re an early riser the roosters are a hoot! We ran in to some electrical issues and thankfully nothing bad happened. Lonnie was kind enough to address the issue. Thank you again! Highly recommend!

Tried to reserve a stay twice without a response. Finally have up after a week. HOST RESPONSE: Guest only tried to reserve one stay. During the initial request, they had zero reviews, Our site rules indicate guests with zero reviews need to provide a detailed message in the request. The guest simply copied their short profile description. I gave them time to get a review before responding, but the guest canceled 5 days after the request.

Thanks to storms in the south, flooding, my RV stuck in mud, I could not get there and could not cancel much in advance. But I communicated with Lonnie who hit me back so fast each time I gave a status with the THIN hope that I might make it. Based on Lonnie's communications and empathy and understanding alone, I will most definitely book a stay here when I pass through again. THIS is a host that cares. :-)
