Quiet suburban neighborhood with houses fairly close together. 1/4 mile east of Interstate-5 and 1.5 miles from the beach. Parking is in my driveway, which has a moderate 4% slope front-to-rear, and also some sideways tilt. I have blocks available that will get you almost level. This space is limited to vans under 25 feet long and 7.5 feet (90 inches) or less in width with mirrors folded. This is so I can get my vehicle in and out of the garage. Sorry, no trailers or RVs. Temperatures are mostly pleasant as we are 1.5 miles from the coast. Suggested Local Attractions:Nice beaches 1-3 miles away (Fletcher Cove has plenty of free parking), VONs supermarket & restaurants: 1/4 mile away. Lots of other stores & restaurants within 1 mile. Mission Bay: 20 minutes. Downtown San Diego: 30 minutes. If the timing works come to "Van Life Gathering" Meet-up in San Diego (Bimonthly - google it).

Retired guy with a Nissan 12-passenger van for travel Details: Retired techie who lived in Minneapolis and Boston before settling in Solana Beach with family at my current address 20+ years ago. I've taken 6 long road trips since fitting up my Nissan NV van in 2015. I think van travel will keep getting more popular because of so many "technology tailwinds"...communications, electronics, batteries, solar. Love the bimonthly "Van Life Gathering" Meet-ups in San Diego. Check it out if passing through. I enjoy schmoozing with van & RV travelers, but I'm not that guy who won't stop yapping and just leave you alone already :-). Home Town: Solana Beach, CA Favorite Boondocking Locations: I usually stay with friends & family or at public campgrounds, Wal-Marts, or Pilot truck stops. Skills or Expertise to Share: I'm super handy fabricating stuff -- wood, plastics, aluminum, coroplast, fabric, etc. I like to chase space efficiency and lightweight solutions.

Such a peaceful area away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The host was kind enough to provide thoughtful amenities as well :)

Our first time using the app. Chris was a great host. Came out to say hi and to see if we got set up ok. Provided leveling blocks, water, electricity and even wifi. Unbelievably quiet neighborhood. Got such a good sleep. So grateful!

This location is a quiet neighborhood. It has easy access to a local mall with groceries and a Starbucks. It also had very straightforward access to Tide Park Beach in Solano Beach. Thanks to our host for making our stay very comfortable.
