Our 15 acre hobby farm is located at the "tip of the Mitt" 12 miles from Mackinaw City and 12 miles from Cross Village - flat, grassy and has many trees. Very quiet and peaceful. Dogs might be welcome, if they get along with ours. Have a good Verizon 4G signal here, don't know about other vendors, but can see the cell tower. Water is available to fill white tank. The driveway to the barn is where the power is located, so I imagine most will want to set up either in the driveway or on the grass next to the breaker panel. May and June are black fly season so we won't be outside without protective gear in the day time. Sorry, no more guests can be accepted after Labor Day, we need the time to prepare for winter. Suggested Local Attractions:Close to Blissfest, Big Mac, Wilderness State Park and the Mackinaw Island ferries. Legs Inn is down the road. Many microbreweries in the general area. Updated August 2022

Retired from work, working to live. Details: Retired in 2016 from Weather Service, have a hobby farm in Northern MI. Have spent the winter here in an RV, probably won't do that again. It's the wife and I and our two lab mixes in our Silverado pulling a portable New York hotel room. Happy to trade our summers here, where the weather is cool, with you where your winters are warmer. Home Town: Levering MI Favorite Boondocking Locations: Canada, Colorado, Washington State, Alaska, Wyoming, Montana, etc. Skills or Expertise to Share: Getting pretty good at RV maintenance and repair. Computer software, security and networking is what I did before I retired.

Windy Bottoms is a great place to stay. It's close to Mackinaw City, the ferries to Mackinaw Island and St Ignace. Nice level spot with electric. Alan, one of the hosts, is very easy to talk with. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Windy Bottoms. It was the perfect location for the areas we wanted to visit. Alan was so friendly and made us feel welcomed. He greeted us upon arrival and gave us a couple of parking options. We parked on the gravel driveway which was very level. It was so peaceful and quiet day and night. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful setting, nice host, adorable dogs, electric plug in, and acres of land to behold! Our dog had a blast! We loved Windy Bottoms and would definitely return. Also, had an excellent take out meal from Harbor Lights restaurant which is on the way there coming from the north.

We had a great night’s sleep at Windy Bottoms. Mr A gave us good directions to come in the Easy Way from Cross Village. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Our Hosts were very pleasant people and can help with local information. We really liked the gentle breezes and the night sky. We sat out to watch Sandhill Cranes, Woodpeckers and more. Thanks for being a BDW Host.
