Harvest Hosts

Question 1

All RVs must be self-contained.

Accepted Answer

Your RV must have an interior toilet and built-in holding tanks for waste water (no exterior tanks allowed). Porta-potties are acceptable but must be dumped offsite at an appropriate facility. The dumping of any gray or black water on Host properties is prohibited. You must have interior cooking facilities. Sorry, no tents of any kind allowed.

Question 2

Your Membership includes one RV.

Accepted Answer

When you book a stay, you are booking one parking spot. If you are traveling in a group where there are multiple rigs, one person in each rig needs to have their own Membership and make their own stay request.

Question 3

Always plan ahead to arrange your visit.

Accepted Answer

Use the preferred contact method for each Host to arrange a stay. Please do not arrive unannounced. If your plans change, please notify the Host. No-shows or a cancellation within 24 hours of your stay are a violation of this Code of Conduct and are subject to our violations policy.

Question 4

Arrive only during business hours

Accepted Answer

Be respectful of your Host’s time and arrive within business hours! Be aware that some Host locations may have gates that will be closed after hours. Unless you’ve booked extra nights within your initial stay request, please limit your stay to 24 hours.

Question 5

When requesting your stay, tell the Host what size vehicle you are driving.

Accepted Answer

Upon arrival, ask which entrance you should use and whether you should unhook your tow vehicle. Ask if there are any additional conditions you should know about.

Question 6

Introduce yourself and show the Host your membership card.

Accepted Answer

Hosts will only allow current members of Harvest Hosts to park overnight on their property.

Question 7

Please support your Host.

Accepted Answer

Instead of paying camping fees your first night, support your Host by purchasing something as a way of saying thank you! We recommend spending a minimum of $30. You can do this by purchasing something from their business, paying fees to use hookups, or by leaving a donation – this way, everyone wins! Your Host may charge you a fee to stay extra nights, which counts as supporting your Host for those extra nights. If your Host does not charge fees for extra nights, we recommend continuing to support their business each day of your stay.

Question 8

Do not overstay your welcome.

Accepted Answer

Some of our Hosts graciously offer extra nights, but they are not required to do so, and they may charge you a fee to stay extra nights. We recommend all Members request extra nights within their initial stay request. Do not attempt to stay extra nights without prior Host approval.

Question 9

Please keep a low profile and respect the rules.

Accepted Answer

Remember that the sites are not campgrounds and take care not to disturb the Hosts' neighbors. Be sure to stop any noise, music, and generators by 10 PM or the Hosts’ quiet hours, whichever is earlier.

Question 10

Do not use jacks without jack-pads on asphalt.

Accepted Answer

The weight of the rig can cause damage to the Hosts' property. Inform your Host if you have slide-outs so that you can be parked in an appropriate location.

Question 11

Remember these sites can be working vineyards, farms or historical properties.

Accepted Answer

Please use care and supervise children and pets at all times. Dogs must remain on a leash when outside your RV. Refrain from exploring closed or restricted areas.

Question 12

Be a responsible pet owner.

Accepted Answer

To ensure your pets’ safety, make sure to keep your pets on a leash on the Hosts’ property. Each Host may have their own rules for where pets are and aren’t allowed on their property, so be sure to respect their wishes. Please also clean up after your pets.

Question 13

Ask before using your generator

Accepted Answer

As discussed above, please keep a low profile. If you are parked near the Host's home, neighbors, or other RVs, please use your generator sparingly and only between the hours of 8am and 10pm, or other hours designated by the Host. Also, please check local regulations before using your generator.

Question 14

Respect Host’s property and leave no trace.

Accepted Answer

Keep the space clean by taking all trash with you and picking up after pets. Handle all structures, equipment, and surrounding environment with care to avoid damage, and ensure children with you are supervised to do the same. Respecting host property is essential and shows our gratitude for their hospitality.

Question 15

When departing, thank your Host for your visit.

Question 16

Be aware of local alcohol regulations.

Accepted Answer

Local regulations may prohibit alcohol outside of your RV or other areas of the host property.

Question 17

Members acknowledge that they are insured pursuant to state or provincial laws

Accepted Answer

Members agree to take responsibility for their actions and any resulting consequences. Proof of insurance must be carried in the vehicle. The Host locations have no responsibility for damage or theft to your RV, tow car, or personal property, or for injury to you, your family or guests.

Question 18

Members acknowledge that inappropriate behavior may result in membership revocation.

Accepted Answer

I am aware my membership privileges may be revoked, without refund, for various reasons including if a Host reports a failure to comply with any of the above terms or if Harvest Hosts notices an infraction or disregard of the items listed above.

Code of Conduct

Harvest Hosts members appreciate that the invitation to visit overnight is a special opportunity and will behave respectfully. Please remember that the Hosts are not campgrounds and respect their work and privacy.

Legal Stuff
