Retired for for 15 years from Insurance and Financial Planning Details: After retiring, we traveled to the west coast and the southwestern US. Since that time, we have been in most of the lower 48 states as well as Alaska, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and most of Canada. We especially like the Maritime's, British Columbia and the Yukon, During the spring and summer of 2012 we spent 71 days going to and from Alaska, including some Alaska Marine Highway travel with our RV on board. During the spring & summer of 2013 we traveled up the east coast and visited 15 eastern and northeastern states plus Nova Scotia, Quebec, New Brunswick, & Prince Edward Island. We usually spend January in central Florida. In the late fall of 2013 we also travelled to Europe and took a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. Fun trip. We enjoyed meeting all the new people in the various countries, but the fellow passengers were very interesting too. In mid-summer of 2014, we traveled north from Alabama and generally followed the route of the Mississippi River north to the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior, went east to UP of Michigan, around to the province of Ontario in Canada. We pent several days in Ontario visiting Oakville, Toronto, and Ottawa en-route to up state New York. There was only one disappointment in that we were unable to visit the 911 Memorial in lower Manhattan due to needing a 3 day advance reservation since the demand exceeded the availability of space. The 911 Memorial is a very popular site. After that we continued on southward going to two NASCAR races on the way home, with one being in Bristol, TN and the other in Atlanta en-route home to Alabama. In 2016, we travelled to the northeastern US visiting Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and a few other states as well. We had our wanderlust in tow as we travelled to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and on into Newfoundland via the Marine Atlantic ferries. Our total trip was 58 days with 18 wonderful days "boondocking" in Newfoundland all the while listening to and visiting with the wonderful people of Newfoundland In 2017 we traveled to Alaska spending over 60 days including coming and going to Alaska. We visited many places enroute to Alaska including Glacier, Yellowstone, and the Grand Teton National Parks. While coming back home we took time to visit Mount Ranier, the Grand Canyon, and Bryce Canyon National Parks. During the summer of 2019 we travelled through 15 states and 4 Canadian Provinces. We enjoyed seeing many interesting places including Glacier NP, Yellowstone NP and The Grand Tetons NP. We walked across the Mississippi River at Lake Itasca SP, MN. We even discovered the beginning point of the Columbia River totally by accident in British Columbia! We spend the last several winters in central Florida near Bushnell and last summer before last we stayed in Traverse City Michigan for almost two months. It was much cooler there! Recently, we have travelled to the Upper Península of Michigan, the Ozark Mountains and Canadian providences of Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. We've had some health issues, and this has slowed us down a little. Home Town: Prattville, AL. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Anywhere in the US, Canada or Alaska with a little Europe thrown in for good measure. Skills or Expertise to Share: Photography for me and cooking for my wife Patricia.
