Kids Kupboard is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in Alaska. We are the largest outside-school-hours child feeding program in the state. From our headquarters in the Mat-Su Valley we serve thousands of meals each week to Alaskan families in need. Kids Kupboard is located 40 minutes North of Anchorage, 15 minutes from downtown Palmer, 5 minutes from downtown Wasilla, and a short drive to Hatcher Pass, the gateway to the rugged and breathtaking Talkeetna mountains. Situated on a private hill-top at the end of a long dirt road, our headquarters are the perfect base camp for your adventures in South-Central Alaska! While visiting us you can expect to experience glorious views of the 3 major mountain ranges in the region, enjoy time on our private trail system, gain an insider's perspective of the Mat-Su valley, and have as little or as much privacy as you desire. Our property is kid friendly with a basketball court and hiking options available on site. For those looking to hit the trails, there are private and well-kept trails accessible for all skill levels within a 1-minute drive of or property, and limitless trail opportunities abound just minutes away at Hatcher Pass, Government Peak Recreation Area, Moose Meadows, and more. Feel free to ask our staff for their suggestions on the best spots to hike, bike, and play! In exchange for your night's stay, our friendly staff is eager to share about our operations via tours of our commercial kitchen, farm, and partner farms. Learn about food safety by volunteering in the kitchen for an hour or two during your stay. Become more familiar with local culture by visiting with our resident Land Steward and indigenous herbalist who will be thrilled to share their wisdom regarding Alaskan wild plants and foods, sustainable harvesting practices, and local history and culture. Every $7 spent at Kids Kupboard equates to a meal served to a hungry child in the Mat-Su valley. By camping with Kids Kupboard, you won't just have the opportunity visit our community, you'll have a chance to become a part of it! Please be aware that volunteers, staff, and delivery trucks frequently transit the premises during normal business hours, and that we are an actively developing farm.

Your membership includes an overnight stay at a Host. Extra nights are available at the Host's discretion.

Extra nights may be booked as available. Please contact the site host to inquire about availability. Booking nights in advance is highly recommended. Extra nights are not guaranteed to be available.

Each member will receive an assigned parking spot ahead of arrival. Please be sure to park in this spot so as not to inconvenience other guests or our staff as we do have deliveries occurring throughout the day. We have two parking spots available: one located on our paved basketball court, and another gravel spot adjacent to our developing farm field. Guests who desire more privacy or need water/electrical hookups may inquire about special parking arrangements.

Quiet hours are 10pm to 8am, and there is no smoking on the property. All buildings are off-limits unless a tour has been pre-arranged with the site host. Pets are welcome on approval only, and must remain leashed. Please be sure to pick up after your pets. We do not provide refuse services, so plan to dispose of waste at an appropriate facility. Finally, please respect our onsite caretakers, other guests, employees, volunteers, and the local wildlife!
