About
Minutes from major highways, we are walking distance to the VTA light rail (with connections to Caltrans, BART and Amtrak trains). We ride the express trains to 49ers games (thats an American football team for folks unfamiliar)! The tree shades the space from 1pm onward through November. Once the tree loses its leaves you will have morning sun from the east & south to help recharge your solar HOWEVER without the leaves bird droppings happen. SHOPPING: 2 miles away is a large, regional Mall, called Oakridge Mall. It is surrounded by the usual franchise stores. Grocery stores are Safeway, Lucky, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Costco and Sprouts (the last is our favorite grocery store) . Also, walking distance from the house is a small Indian Grocery store with fresh produce and a large frozen food section. We have a nearby In-and-Out Burger! The closest Costco does *NOT* have gas pumps. Amazon Lockers/facilities are close for receiving shipments. There is FedX office and Walgreens for other parcel pickups. The closest Farmers Market is Sunday morning near the Oakridge Mall. A short walk down the street we have some fast food, a bakery and for breakfast try Mimosa's (check Yelp for their signature drink, its insane). Walking distance are small shaded parks with benches and playgrounds. Terrell Park, Thousand Oaks Park and Erikson Park. There is no official Dog park in walking distance but locals let their dogs off leash...we recommend Erikson Park, it has the best fences. Exceptional Wine Tasting is nearby in Los Gatos, Saratoga and Morgan Hill. There are many museums: Intel Museum and the Computer History Museum among others.

Hi! We are campers and also host two sites here on BW/HH (almost 200 stays and counting). My wife is a member of two camping groups and often travels solo. We also use HipCamp (private property camping). We aren't into the campground experience. Activities like kayak camping, backpacking and Scouting, as kids and again as parents, taught us to travel light (and drilled the principles of Leave No Trace and leave-a-site-better-than-you-found-it). Our rig is a truck camper and it is tight quarters but lets us get out there...off-road and off-grid. We can’t wait to see what happens next and hope to see you out there!

House Rules
*Camper+Vehicle MUST stay within my property. If it is longer, detach and park where instructed. *Try to arrive before 8pm *No major housekeeping/reorganization or RV or vehicle. *Please stay in your camper or vehicle. No relaxing outside the camper, no lawnchairs. *Dogs must be on a leash and cannot be tied out. We can direct you to the park just 3 blocks away. *Passenger-side slide out only *Quiet time after 9pm *Stay length limited to 2 nights *I am offering this site to people passing through, NO LOCALS! *No loud voices, no arguments. Zero tolerance! This is PUBLIC STREET PARKING in a very quiet neighborhood. BE ADVISED: secure your belongings on the outside of your rig as you would in any public space. We can store your exterior bicycles, generators etc in the garage for extended time away from your camper. The entire San Francisco Bay Area struggles with opportunistic crime like package theft and things gone missing from inside, on-top-of and from-the-back of cars, trucks and work-trucks/vans. My Facebook, Nextdoor and Ring doorbell community share stories and I am passing this on to you. The area also finds many homeless living on the side of nearby roads. They are removed, they return...and the cycle repeats. Its not our neighborhood, its a California thing...
Parking & Arrival
Street parking in an average suburban neighborhood. Road slopes toward the gutter. The tree will determine where you park, stay within my property lines. Tow/Towed Vehicle Parking is on the street but may need to be detached from the RV/camper and parked elsewhere depending on the location of your slides and height of camper in relation to the tree trunk and branches.
