About
Camp among Vineyards, Pistachios, Orange Trees, and our Gardens. The wife is an accomplished Gardener who raises flowers, fruits, micro greens, and vegetables. Beautiful Spring days showcase our Transalpine Teroldego grapes as they grow from spring into early summer. Summer days are to hot for camping and your hosts leave to travel among you leaving our adult sons to manage the ranch. Mild fall days precede dormant crops with falling leaves, campfires at the front and back patios, as well as a little stargazing. We are located in the foothills at the bottom of Sequoia National Monument below California Hot Springs and many nearby lakes and parks. Bring your boat, your jet skis, your hiking clothes and go have fun. Come back to your site and enjoy a glass of our fine wine and a good chat courtesy of your hosts. Suggested Local Attractions:Close to Tulare County’s Balch Park (John Muir’s Favorite Sequoia Grove), California Hot Springs, and the Trail of a Hundred Giants. Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP, as well as two large lakes which are just a few miles away. Please visit our Facebook Group “Sequoia National Park Camping & Recreation” which has almost 8,000 members and scroll through the numerous pictures and comments about the nearby attractions of our wilderness in all her glorious seasons.

Retired Court Officer, Vineyard Owner, Winemaker, RVr, Boater, & Fisherman Details: Conservatives surrounded by grapes who dabble in winemaking, barbecuing, and outdoor life. The wife is a faculty member at the local community college. The children, young men, are finishing their educations and preparing to abandon us in order to start life out on their own. We welcome those who enjoy a glass of wine, a fire, and some good company. Home Town: Terra Bella, Ca. 93270 is a rural area 7 miles from Porterville, Ca. We are at the foot of Sequoia National Monument we have two great warm water fishing and boating lakes nearby. The closest, Lake Success is 8 miles away and it supports house boating, fishing, personal watercraft, kayaking, and swimming. The largest Lake Kaweah is 30 miles away. We have launched our 26 foot motored sailboat and multiple dinghies, kayaks, etc., in both and they are immensely entertaining for everyone. The local lakes are well stocked for freshwater fishing. They are operated by the Army Corps of Engineers, patrolled by watercraft of the Tulare County Sheriff, and by resident Park Rangers. There is a full service Marina on each Lake. Favorite Boondocking Locations: All over North America. Skills or Expertise to Share: All the subjects you failed to study and then some.
