It is cooler than Grand Junction, with breezes and shade trees with a year round creek. Located on the side of Grand Mesa near small towns of Mesa and Molina. Grand Junction prices for gas and food are much cheaper than other areas around. Suggested Local Attractions:Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa with many lakes, Vega lake near Colbran, Black Canyon toward Gunnison, Moab (Arches and Canyon land National parks), Ouray and Telluride, Palisade wineries and peach/cherry farms and Grand junction main street art/sculptures, Engstrom's toffee candy store on 7th st. Colorado River, Glenwood canyon and hot springs. Lots of hiking. hunting, fishing, mtn biking.

Access Road Conditions: Camping site is large.... So it will accommodate friends and family traveling together with more than 1 motorhome, travel trailer or tent. Need good ground clearance for circular drive RV site, may find the Left site easier to drive in and back out. Pull thru parking is on one site only, but larger RVs will find the pull in ( and backup) site easier than the circular drive thru site. After you pull into the gate, stop and walk around to see what is best for you. You will be climbing to 7500 feet on public paved roads, until the last 2 miles when it becomes gravel, then 1/4 mile on a gravel private road. Snow in winter will make it difficult/impossible. I installed double 10 feet, gray gates, so there has been no problem turning into the RV site so far. If you Miss the gate on Right and drive over the creek you went too far. Our house is NOT located near the RV site !! Arriving in the dark/night is not advised. There is NO cell service here. By the entrance to the private rd, weak cell service, down by KE rd there is good signal. Take notes or do screen save of the detailed directions by map/gps. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: the RV site is one acre, so parking is not an issue.
