About
Fantastic view of the entire town of Cripple Creek and Pikes Peak from our driveway parking area. Peaceful, quiet and private 3-acre location, but you only have to walk down our dirt driveway to catch the inexpensive town shuttle that goes all around Cripple Creek. It's $2/person and FREE for seniors! If you are used to fairly steep roads and the 9,600 foot elevation, it's an easy walk to anything in town in less than 10-15 minutes, including the casinos, restaurants, bars, town park, rec center and museums. We have electricity available nearby for a nominal fee per night, depending on the size of your rig (Hint, hint - we like red wine!). Slideouts and awnings can usually be accommodated as well but, again, it depends on the size/type of RV you're bringing. Your propane BBQ is OK but no charcoal or wood fires are permitted at any time. There is a propane firepit you can use in our common area. We are nice and reasonable people and don't mind requests, but we reserve the right to say no to anything that doesn't work for us. We have a large dog and welcome yours to visit. There is a fenced off-leash dog park about 2 miles away. There may be opportunities to use our fenced backyard for limited amounts of play time (assuming we don't have barking issues), but pets cannot be left unattended on our property at any time. Suggested Local Attractions:Casinos, museums, hiking, nature, antique and gift shops, history, and so much more! Go to VisitCrippleCreek.com. We are within an hour drive of Pikes Peak, the Royal Gorge, the Arkansas River, Florissant Fossil Beds, several state parks and reservoirs, the Gold Belt Scenic Byway, and so much more. Services available within 1 mile include an auto repair shop (honest/reliable), take-out sub shop, grocery store, post office, 2 gas stations, Ace hardware, liquor store, RV parks with dump station, playgrounds, Family Dollar, and numerous restaurants. We are in a very walkable in-town location yet surprisingly private and quiet.

Adventurous Colorado Couple Details: We're outgoing, fun and friendly, but also value our privacy. When we travel, we tend to keep to ourselves and try to always be the quiet and respectful folks in the campground. We are hard-working professionals who love our mountain home in the central Colorado gold mining district of Cripple Creek, about an hour west of Colorado Springs, and an hour north of Canon City. We have a passion for adventure travel and are always up for trying new things and seeing new places. We're into camping, of course, but also hiking with our dogs, exploring in our UTV, nature photography, riding trains, geocaching, doing zip lines, cruising to the Caribbean, and spending hours soaking away our cares in the many hot springs around Colorado. We aren't ready for the full-time RV lifestyle, but we do want to hit the road more often, so we want to save for retirement by boondocking. Since we live in a beautiful historic part of the Rockies, on several acres with views of town, we thought it would be fun to share our land with fun, laid-back and respectful boondockers who want to visit Pikes Peak, the gold mining district and Royal Gorge. And, since Susie is in tourism and Greg is a local history buff, we can point you in the direction of the best things to see and do. NOTE: We had a second BW location at a business in Canon City, which was Susie's former employer. The neutral reviews and those that mention a parking lot are NOT at the Gold Camp location, which is in Cripple Creek. We no longer manage the Canon City boondocking spot. Home Town: Cripple Creek, Colorado at about 9,600 feet. Literally, the middle of the state. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Cottonwood Lake, just outside Buena Vista, Colorado. So beautiful! Skills or Expertise to Share: Greg is very handy doing just about everything. He is into woodworking, electronics, can fix plumbing, build stuff, and he makes great popcorn. Susie is into local tourism and can give travel advice on cool things to see and do, recommended restaurants, and more within a 50 mile radius.

House Rules
We live a very quiet lifestyle, and guests who respect our privacy and wish for a peaceful home life are welcome to park for the night to enjoy our town. Rules aren't fun, but we want to be sure we're on the same page if you visit, so please: * No smoking or vaping of any kind while on our property. * No children under age 6, please. * No charcoal or wood BBQ's or open fires at any time (propane is OK). We have an abundance of high grasses and often have fire bans. * No motorcycles, OHVs or loud machinery. Generators are OK until 8pm. We live in a very quiet town. * LEASHED pets are welcome. Please clean up after them, regardless of where they do their business.
Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: Paved roads in Cripple Creek, then a long but mostly straight dirt driveway. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Will need to unhook but there is space on the property and the street to park a tow separately overnight. Long narrow dirt driveway but level turn-around and parking at the top of the driveway, assuming all our vehicles aren't in the way when you arrive. Must have advance notice of your arrival so we can move our vehicles to allow more turn-around space.
