About
We do require any BW stay requests from potential guests to have a profile picture of themself/themselves as well as a written profile more than a few words before we will consider accepting your request. If you do not have a picture of yourself, we will send you a message and ask you to add one to your profile. This is not used as a means of discrimination but so that we know who is coming. We have opened our home to travelers and we want to know who we can expect and we want to provide a sense of trust, safety and security for both you the guest, and we the host. We have a picture of ourselves for you to know what we look like and mutual expectations are fair. So with that said we are in a quiet residential neighborhood on about an acre of property. The spur to park your RV is located in the rear of our lots and is tucked in to a spot next to and under oak trees that are well trimmed with no low hanging branches. The spur is 20'x30' mostly level and is located perpendicular to and to the side of our RV carport. If you tow a 30' rig (TT or fifth wheel) you will need to disconnect your tow vehicle. Our neighborhood is surrounded by wooded areas and thus there is the possibility of seeing some wildlife such as turkeys, bobcats and coyotes. The neighbor on the next lot has cleared away some of the trees. Suggested Local Attractions:We are located near the Homosassa State Wildlife Park where there is an under water observatory to view manatees and see other wild life native to Florida. Our area offers great little places to eat locally caught seafood and we have some of the best flats fishing in the area. Kayaking, golfing, hiking and biking trails are near by. We are a few miles from the Withlacoochee State Forest where there are opportunities for taking off-road quiet drives. Crystal River is only five miles away and has some of the best kayaking available for seeing up close and personal the manatees at the Three Sisters Springs. The Chassahowitzka River is twelve miles to the south and also offers great kayaking as well as manatees to see and swim with. A grocery store is only three miles away.

HOST
Retired couple who love the RV lifestyle! Details: We have been camping in all modes from tents (in our younger days) to Class C, two truck campers, a travel trailer, a fifth wheel and now we've finally settled back to a truck camper because we love having more versatility in where we can go. We love the outdoors, love meeting new people and getting off of the beaten path by exploring places most folks don't go by RV'ing in a truck camper. Don worked 35 years in the Nuclear Power industry and Lucy has worked in the health care industry. We are part time RV'ers. Home Town: We live in a small town on the Gulf of Mexico coast about 70 miles North of the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida area. Favorite Boondocking Locations: One of our favorites was while in Alaska on a trip in our truck camper was 20 miles down a muddy/dirt road which ended at a small river. It was so peaceful there at the riverside. Skills or Expertise to Share: Don's background was as a project manager with nuclear power maintenance and in construction and loves woodworking and most any do-it-yourself type of projects. We both also love fishing, kayaking and the outdoors. Lucy's enjoys knitting, crocheting and sewing while listening to audio books as well.

House Rules
If you are new to Boondockers Welcome and have no reviews and/or little to no information posted on your personal profile, please provide more background information about yourself when requesting a stay for our review. You must have a picture of yourself and of your camping rig. Our house rules are pretty simple. 1. We can offer 15amp power, but it is located approximately 50' away. The hookup for the city water is about 35' away. Extension cord recommended. 2. If you decide to use a generator that is fine with the exception they will need to be shut down by 9:30 p.m. as a courtesy to our neighbors. 3. Pets are welcome but, YOU MUST keep them on a leash at all times and YOU MUST pick up after them and take all their deposits with you when you leave. The coyotes in the area will take small pets as they are opportunistic animals so please keep all pets leashed. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS IN YOUR RV AND LEAVE FOR THE DAY! We cannot be responsible for your pets well being if you are not here. 4. Alcohol is allowed as long as you are a responsible drinker and do not cause problems. Smoking is allowed only in your RV.
Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: There is a paved street behind our house at the rear of our property where you will see a street sign and that is where you will turn left. The parking spur is located on the right and is a gravel drive where you will see our RV under a carport. You will need to either back in up the slope/hill and then make a turn backing in to the spur on the left of the gravel drive or pull up and in. The spur has trees surrounding it and are they are well back from the parking area and there are no low hanging branches. The spur is set well away from the house and is actually prepped for an eventual carport. It has a slight slope to one side and is located perpendicular to the side of where our RV is parked under a carport. 30/50amp or 110 power is located about 50' from the spur and water about 35'l. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: This is a back-in spot accessed from the street behind our house on a parking spur by our RV Carport. Once backed in to the spot, you can unhook your tow vehicle and park it in front of it. If pulling a towed vehicle, you can unhook on the street and then back-in your RV and park your vehicle in front of it. It does require backing up an incline hill of about 50' and making a turn or pulling in to the spot forward and backing out.
