The city of Decatur GA was incorporated in 1823; in recent years it has gained a national reputation as a progressive city with a high level of citizen involvement. It has a small trendy mixed-use district with a thriving restaurant scene (named one of the South's "Tastiest Towns"). The city is known for its frequent festivals, which include the annual Decatur Arts Festival, Summer In The city, Decatur BBQ, Blues & Bluegrass Festival, the Decatur Book Festival, the Decatur Maker's Faire, The Decatur Craft Beer Festival and the Decatur Wine Festival. Other events throughout the year include parades, Concerts on the Square, wine crawls, art walks, runs, and races. There is also easy transition to downtown Atlanta from the Decatur Square. Our property is located in a quiet residential neighborhood about 10 minute walk from the downtown Decatur Square. The property is on a small, private, dead-end road along a creek surrounded by trees and shared with a variety of wildlife (including rabbits, squirrel, raccoon, heron, owl, and the occasional coyote! Be warned that the turn-around space on our road is tight so this is not a suitable property for vehicles over 25' (or taller than 12' due to utility lines). No hookups are provided.
