Welcome to High Desert Haven, a peaceful, wide-open spot in Southern Idaho with stunning 360° mountain views. Located just off Highway 27 (a 65 MPH zone), our property offers a quiet rural stay with easy access to adventure—and just enough quirks to keep it interesting. We have multiple parking options to suit your preferences. Some spots are right off the highway with paved or gravel access, while others are more secluded and offer better protection from wind and noise. Let us know your setup, and we’ll help you find the best spot. Some areas are packed dirt and may not be available if it’s rained recently, which doesn't happen often, but we always have options on concrete or gravel year-round. 20-amp electric (via traditional household outlet) and fresh water hookups are available - $5/night for power. If you'd like power, let us know and we'll send our Venmo info to you. No dump station onsite, but there’s a free city dump in nearby Burley. Campfires are welcome in our designated area (bring your own wood), and generators are allowed anytime—just be considerate of other guests. We’re in farm country, so please expect the occasional whiff from nearby dairies or feedlots on strong wind days. During the summer, you may hear the steady hum of our neighbor's irrigation pump—it sounds like a loud generator and shouldn’t impact your ability to relax outside. (Update: As of April 17, 2025, the pump is unusually loud this year. We recommend taking that into account when choosing where to park.) There’s almost always some wind, often from the west, and occasionally strong winds from other directions. If that’s a concern, we can guide you to more sheltered parking areas. Outdoor lovers will appreciate the location: Pomerelle Ski Resort (40 min) – Winter skiing & summer hiking Oakley Reservoir & Snake River (30 min) – Great for fishing, boating, and kayaking South Hills Trails (20 min) – Scenic hikes & UTV fun Burley & Oakley (10–12 miles) – Fuel, food, dump station, and small-town charm Pets are welcome! Plenty of area to walk your pet down the lane. Just note that the property is unfenced and next to a busy road, so please keep them leashed or close by. Our own small dog stays in the backyard and may bark, but won’t approach you. Come enjoy Idaho’s high desert sunrises, mountain views, and starry skies.
