Get off the main highway just a short distance and see the peaceful backroad beauty of northwestern Illinois. Hike and bike through rolling hills, farm land and woods. This year I've added honey tasting paired with delectable savories for your taste buds to enjoy. We are less than an hour away from the Mississippi River, historic Galena and Rockford. Here at the farmstead, there might be seasonal veggies/fruits, honey, salsa, jams, and sweet or savory baked goods waiting for you--depending when you visit.! If you're interested, I'd love to teach you a little about bees (honey and natives) and beekeeping and the important of native plant gardening. We also have several walking trails and prairie tour to enjoy on the property. If you give us notice, we can bake something special like a favorite pie at your request.
