About
County property, just on the edge of Portland Indiana. Property boasts a beautiful 1950's brick home with wrap around porch, and 2 restored historic red barns on about 4 acres. No immediate neighbors - property is surrounded by farm fields on 3 sides. Lots of open, grassy space at the back of the lot to walk and play with your dog. Easy access off of State Highway 67, with a circle drive on the property to make it easy to get in & out of. Highway location makes for corresponding road noise, but otherwise the the location is peaceful. One 30 amp electric plug available. A donation you feel is appropriate based on your usage level of water and power is requested. If you want to park without anything from me, always no charge. When I'm home I can fill your water tanks with softened water from the house (but not stay connected), or provide you with a hook up to a connection to potable well water. There is one walnut tree along the driveway you will need to drive under. I try to keep it trimmed up to get my class C through without branches hitting, but if your rig is abnormally tall you may need to drive around the tree through the grass, which can be done as long as the ground is dry. If you are concerned, give me a heads up & I'll double check the trimming (really only a spring growth issue) and let you know the ground condition. There is plenty of room to park 2 RVs plus cars, if needed. (Previous home owners both drove school buses & both were parked here overnight daily.) There is one 30 AMP plug available by the barns, and a couple of 15 AMP plug-ins. I have a 2nd 30-AMP plug available by the house. Parking length for that one would be limited to 25' MAX (no more than a Van or small Class B/C). There is WiFi in the house, it may not be strong where you'll be parked, but it is available on the property. Walmart is less than a mile away to stock up. Laundry mat is right up the road too. Suggested Local Attractions: On weekends, visit my winery: Tipsy Glass Winery in Bryant, IN! 15 mins to the north of Portland. New microbrew in Portland: Good-Rich Brewery Lots of events throughout the year at the Jay County Fairgrounds: Vintage Motorbike Show, Jay County Fair, Shutterbug Conference, World's Largest Gas Tractor & Engine Show, Vintage Military Vehicle Show, Hunting/Fishing Expo, or an auction about every weekend. There are many antique stores in the area, and a growing number of Women's clothing boutique stores in Portland and nearby Fort Recovery, OH. Arts Place in Portland has events throughout the year. Kids will enjoy the nearly brand new Portland City Waterpark in the summer.

Wine & Bulldogs at the edge of a small town Details: I just started RV traveling in 2021. I travel mainly to attend AKC dog shows with my bulldogs. Traveling in an RV lets me take the whole crew with me without worry of finding a hotel that will allow my dogs. If I'm not attending dog shows, I am running my small winery, The Tipsy Glass Winery, in Bryant, IN on weekends. Home Town: Portland, Indiana Favorite Boondocking Locations: Just starting out. No suggestions yet! Skills or Expertise to Share: I am a wine maker!

House Rules
Prefer no smoking on property. If you do, don't leave a trace. No trash disposal on property. Pets should always be leashed/tethered outside. Please stay out of the out-buildings. You're welcome to take a walk and wonder around the back mowed two grassy acres.
Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: Access is off of a state highway. Driveway is flat, gravel & concrete and leads up to the house and a large gravel circle drive in front of 2 large out buildings. Years ago the property used to be a farm, so there is space to navigate larger vehicles. The former property owners owned a 40' class A motorhome that was kept at the property. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: I have a large circle driveway and spaces in front of 2 large out buildings to park in front of. All gravel, off-road.
