Parking & Arrival
If you are coming from Glasgow and have a large camper or RV I HIGHLY suggest taking 31E out here instead of 249. 249 is very curvy in spots and much more narrow than 31E. Both will get you here but from other guests I have heard they would have preferred to take the easier route with large vehicles. If driving Northeast on US 31E, turn right onto Hwy. 87 (directly across from Barren River State Resort Park). Turn left if driving South from Glasgow. In 7 miles, turn left onto Hwy. 921. In approximately 1 ½ miles there will be a brick house and a navy blue front building (that navy front building is our house if you need anything). The address for there is 3149 Thomerson Park Road, Austin, KY 42123. Turn right into the drive before you get to the black barn – right after the red fire hydrant. You can park anywhere on that property. Most people like to drive down past the pavilion and greenhouse. It’s a big enough space to turn around and overlooks beautiful countryside. Coming from this direction you will be arriving where you park before you see the actual cheese shop. With large motor homes that are hard to turn around it is best if you visit the shop on your way out driving left out of the parking area. If you take Hwy. 249 from Glasgow, continue for 12 miles and turn right onto Hwy. 921. The farm and Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese is 2 miles down on the left. If you stop at the farm first, don’t pull into the driveway as the turn to get out is difficult for larger vehicles. Please park across the road onto the flat grassy area. From the farm to where you will park, continue driving down Hwy 921. You will drive over a small bridge then begin to go uphill. At the top of the house there will be a white house and a black barn on the left. Turn left into the drive after the black barn before you see a red fire hydrant. There is a gravel drive with a chicken coop on the left, keep going past the greenhouse and pavilion. Past that is an open area. It’s a big enough space to turn around and overlooks beautiful countryside, feel free to park back there wherever you are comfortable to level out. Our store hours at the cheese shop are: Friday – Saturday: 10am – 3pm Sunday-Thursday: Closed to the public but can arrange a visit by appointment usually. The milking barn and dairy operation is open anytime so feel free to come up and visit when is convenient for you!
