About
We sit at the top of the Catoctin Mountain range off the beaten path. We have two sites to choose from, both are level, grassy and next to a tree line. During wet periods, we typically put folks in the driveway, which does have some minor slope. Guests are welcome to join us on the patio for a campfire and watch for deer and bear. Water and electric(15A) available if necessary. 30A Electric is available, but only for rigs that park in the driveway closer to the house. Suggested Local Attractions:We are located at the top of the Catoctin mountain range running through Cunningham Falls State Park and Catoctin National Park, home of Camp David(you can't visit there). Both parks are less than 5 minutes away, along with the Appalachian Trail, also 5 minutes away. Cunningham Falls is the tallest waterfall in MD, and is easily accessible from a number of trails, including a handicap accessible lot. Gettysburg National Park, the Antietam Battlefield and Harper's Ferry National Park are all a 30 minute drive. Red Heifer Winery, Catoctin Breeze Vineyard, Big Cork Vineyard, and Springfield Winery & Distillery are nearby. Frederick, MD is a great little town to visit and stroll Market Street.

Living the RV life and loving it! Details: Cindy and I live in the mountains and enjoy the outdoor life; traveling, gardening and biking. We spend time volunteering in Catoctin National Park, which is a 5 minute drive from the house. We enjoy time on the patio with the fire pit blazing when not out on the road. Home Town: Smithsburg, MD - we live in the Catoctin Mountain range, about 2 miles from Camp David, the presidential retreat, and situated in Catoctin National Park. We are native Marylanders, but spent almost 20 years in New England before moving back. Skills or Expertise to Share: Pretty handy and mechanical with most things, including RV components. If you need help with fixing something on your rig or tow vehicle, we can probably help with most minor repairs.

Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: We are located approximately 2,000 feet up on the Catoctin Mountain range. The main route is Route 77 from the east (Thurmont) and west (Smithsburg). We are also accessible from I-70(exit 42) thru Myersville and Wolfesville from the south on Route 17. Route 77 ascends about 1500 vertical feet over 4-6 miles and is a well traveled road through Catoctin National Park and Cunningham Fall State Park. We maneuver all roads with our 36' fifth wheel easily. Please carefully consider road limitations and your comfort level when booking. We'd love to have you, but we don't want you to have a "white-knuckle" ride getting here. Guests may need to back in to an easily accessible spot, depending on rig size and length. We'll be glad to help you get in and out. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: In driveway, or on grass.
